great beers, huge variety.
Huge awesome beer selection. Atmosphere is subpar. But beer list makes up for it.

Rude and Obnoxious Bartenders Serving Overpriced Beer.
The bartenders are rude and obnoxious. They gave us attitude when we ordered shots after our college's team victory. They also configured the TV's so that our group (of 50) could not see our game easily, and one of the bartenders said he did it just to p*ss us off. The tables are sticky, the bathrooms are dirty. I wouldn't even dare eat raw oysters there. The selection of beers is good but very overpriced. The Bulldog on Canal is nicer, cleaner, more comfortable, and about $1 per beer cheaper than Cooter Brown's. Go there instead.

Uptown students congregate here for the casual vibe, massive beer selection and respectable bar menu..
In Short
Located in Uptown's historic Riverbend neighborhood, Cooter Brown's rises above the typical student-oriented bar, though it might be trying a bit too hard to stand out with its "Celebrity Hall of Foam and Beersoleum." A selection of more than 400 bottled beers and 45 on tap offers plenty to draw in the beer connoisseur. Eight wide-screen TV screens, an oyster bar, boiled crawfish and po' boys round out the attractions.

stay away from raw oysters.
Today, I had some oysters from the raw bar.
I was shocked to see little worms slithering about the oysters within the half-shell. The shucker said had seen them before but couldn't tell me anything about them. He didn't offer to refund my money. He said "It's sea-life, dude." Another employee tossed in the cliche "Extra protein!" Well, I think I'll pass on their oysters from now on. The beer is good, and I'll stick to that.

Great fun!.
Friends from Tulane took me to Cooter Brown's for drinks, oysters, a game of pool and to listen to some good music. Enjoyed all of the above and the crowd was very festive. Good memories.

Beer lovers mecca.
This college bar is still worth going to for many reasons, but do not forget to bring an ID (only place in New Orleans that will card). Get a passport and try to go around the world sampling a beer from every country, or pick up a platter of the largest oysters this side of paradise. You can pass the time munching, or if youre still standing after going around the world, you can shoot a game of pool. Dont forget to order cheese fries on the side.
This is one of New Olreans better sports bars.

A crowded world tour for beer lovers.
The beer menu here is impressive, Nirvana for aficionados of foreign brews both popular and obscure. The plain-spoken, picnic-table feel of the main room is conducive to casual, chatty conversation, and the gaming area provides its share of diversions. The big drawback? Fighting your way through the throngs of (mostly) college kids at the bar to order your drink of choice requires triathlon-level endurance and "Survivor"-style ruthlessness. Also a good place for cheese fries and other sturdy bar grub.
