working at bubba gumps has stopped me from drinking there.
This place seems much more sincere.

Getting more yuppie all the time & bartender has an attitude. I'm a native & I have been going to this bar on and off for near thirty years but last Tuesday was my last time. How come? Well the bartender did the old Vegas trick of saying I owed ten because he used some fancy vodka that I did not order. And then when he said "fine" ('cause he knew I wasn't going to pay) I was fishing around for change (because I wasn't going to give him a tip) he said, and I quote: "I don't take any thing less than quarters" Who the #%#@ hired this pompous fool? He is the first bartender I haven't tipped and he is emblematic of how this bar has just become another yuppiefied relic of the old New Orelans...by, by Maple Leaf bar never again!…
Enamoured out of towner.... Loved this place...great atmosphere and the tin walls and ceiling are remarkable. We don't have tin bottles in OH so another tourist moment. Love that the vibe was in flux...meaning that the bar staff is impressive at being in the moment and shape shifts to the moment....wished I had seen it raccous. Wish it was my neighborhood bar...sigh.…
Best Monday night combo in NOLA. Every time I visit New Orleans, I plan on spending Monday nights at the Maple Leaf. Papa Grows Funk carries on the tradition of great music from about 10 PM till closing. Friendly crowd that's a mix of locals (mostly) and out of towners, great bartenders, and music that makes you want to move. If you can get there early enough, eat at Jacques-Imo's two doors up the street. Great food and great service. A night out of the French Quarter - imagine that!…
Good music, people, and food!. Great place to get away from the usual New Orleans scene. Things don't seem to get going until after 10, but then it rocks. Great place to hear music, meet some good people, and enjoy a non-Bourbon Street experience. You're in for a great time if they have a crawfish boil.....served in rounds on a 3 by 5 sheet of plywood placed over the pool table with corn on the cob. S*** the head!…
