Worst mechanics ever.
I went to this station to get the rattling of my left front tire checked out. I parked my car in their parking lot, which is just 15 feet to the side of the bay, and walked into the bay and asked the mechanic who was doing nothing if I could pull in the car to get the axle and tire checked. The mechanic screamed at me, "I'm not talking to anyone unless your car is right here!" as he pointed to the ground in front of him. I walked away and moved my car in 10 feet. The mechanic came up to me and said he really wished I hadn't have come in within their last hour of operation for the day. He lifted the car up and examined it for 5 minutes then let it down without a word. He went into a side door and didn't emerge for 10 minutes so I left.
I went in the next morning and got a different mechanic. He gave me a quote; the problem was something about the bearing. I walked back home and had a phone message from the previous mechanic who diagnosed the same problem, but told me a quote of almost $200 more. Crook.
I got a brake tag from them and the guy running the show came up to my window and said "Man, I really wish you hadn't have come in, I'm trying to go home." There was 35 minutes left until they closed! After he did the inspection he started telling me to my face all these things he had to do at home and how he wanted to get out early and how I ruined his plans. He went back in to the bay and started yelling with all the other mechanics about nonsense.
These mechanics are complete jackasses. Avoid this station if you can.
Repairing cars and saving lives!. Where do I start...Was towed into Uptown Shell after my service truck died en route to a very important uptown client and found the most talented mechanic in New Orleans! Larry (The shop Manager) was able to get me back on the road in record time after locating a disconected wire in the engine compartment! No here's what I'm talkin about! ONLY $50 and 15 minutes later I was able to get to my job and service my customer. Will definitly be bringing all my company vehicles (9 of them) and my personal ones to them as well!
Worse service station EVER --- STAY AWAY!.
They're crooks. I went there for my last brake tag, but I'll never go back. I'd just had my windows re-tinted and had the documentation that they were compliant, but they did the test anyway. Then they damaged my window with the window tint reader (left a three inch scratch) and wouldn't even talk to me about it.
Another time I tried to get a new tire there. They promised it would be there Monday, then Tuesday, and then finally on Wednesday I asked to complain to the manager/owner. He started screaming at me and told me to contest the charge on my credit card, refusing to charge back for the tire. I eventually got a refund, but I had to have my bank contest the charged.
Really, don't go there.
1 Oil change and $390 later....
After my oil change from this station, while running errands, I noticed coolant leaking. By the next evening, the engine was overheating and smoking, the check engine light was on, and there was a terrible rattling sound. I was hesitant to trust the Shell station team again, so I took my car to the dealership. Two days and $390 worth of diagnostics, parts and labor later, it was determined that the radiator cap was not screwed on tight enough after the oil change. It is worth mentioning that this car has NEVER had any mechanical problems and I am diligent about oil changes every 3000 miles.
The owner of the station--who was unapologetic, accusatory and abrupt--told me that it was MY mistake to have taken it to the dealership, not their mistake for the oversight on tightening the radiator cap.
I wasn't expecting to be reimbursed, but I certainly wasn't expecting to be treated that way by the business owner.
Car owners beware.
