The Skinny
Founded in 1939 by the Perlis family (the original shop was on the site of the Magazine Street flagship store's parking lot), this preppy wonderland is now famous for high-end business attire and its own crawfish-adorned Cajun Clothing Co. casual wear.
The Scene
Out-of-towners and proud residents love to snag anything with the trademark crawfish for casual, weekend dress. But ultraconservative locals of both sexes shop here for upscale workweek and formal attire. The ground floor is dedicated to menswear, from suits to briefs. Upstairs is home to women's and children's clothing, accessories and gift items. The odd aromatic candle or ritzy bath product also dots the racks.
