The Scene – Residents venture here for the best barbecued meat in the city. The small room is surrounded by dark wood--on the floor, walls, chairs and tables. good neighborhod restaurant. With good specials especially the crab cakes but basic breakfasts, lunches and dinners are good and inexpensive.
Thursday meatloaf exceptional, as are many other of their daily specials. I use their delivery service a lot.

This place is the bomb

Excellent food and wonderful staff make this joint a must. The Voodoo Chicken sandwich was to die for, as was the Rachael and the bread pudding. The servers are very attentive and witty, making every visit a joyous one.

Meatloaf Thursdays are a MUST

I've eaten here many times, I've enjoyed almost every meal. My favorite is the meatloaf, mashed potatoes and green beans, followed very closely by the white beans on Mondays, the best and seasoned to New Orleanians taste. The wait staff are accomodating, and the management always courteous and friendly. It has a very warm and relaxing atmosphere for lunch, dinner, or drinks on the patio.

- Cons: charbroiling not too appetizing
