Pick this place instead of Bubba Gumps.. seafood here actually tastes fresh and like it came from the sea. It’s well seasoned, well cooked and with quality ingredients. A step above the rest.
average at best.
I had not eaten here in a few years, and was looking forward to my visit. I was more than a little dissapointed by the meal, they did not have any boiled shrimp or raw oysters that day and we ordered
the giant seafood platter. There was lots of food (we ordered the platter for 2 and it was enough for 4), but the breading was a little heavy and the seafood itself not so flavorful. The gumbo was very good however as was the mac and cheese.
All in all, I think you get a better friend seafood meal at Deanie's.
We found the service fine the night we visited.…
Heaping portions. This is one of the places my husband (boyfriend back then) brought me to when he learned I loved seafood! I was amazed at the amount of food you received. I'm glad to hear this wonderful place survived Katrina. I haven't gotten home yet but learned that Jack Dempsey was open and I'm planning a family outing for Friday July 27,2007. Editorial Review. Serving delicious stuffed flounder and 16-ounce steaks, this popular eatery is equally proud of its creamy, cheesey baked macaroni and cheese.
Back in Business. Jack Dempsey's Restaurant is back in business and as good as ever. They suffered wind damage but no water damage. The food was wonderful and very reasonsably priced at lunch. The onion rings appetizer is huge, easily feeding 4 people. The stuffed trout is delicious, a trout filet broiled atop a crabmeat dressing. The baked macaroni is still the best in the world. Creamy and very cheesy, with penne pasta. Thanks goodness that Katrina spared such a wonderful New Orleans institution.…
