Olde Victorian Inn and Spa--French Quarter

Editorial Review for Olde Victorian Inn and Spa--French Quarter – by Gayot.com

The Scene
Guests are greeted with hot tea or chilled lemonade, which only hints at the pampering to come. This unique bed-and-breakfast houses Miss Celie's Spa Orleans, first opened in the 1880s to pamper socialites. Though the French Quarter lies immediately out the front door, treatments are difficult to leave behind; they include manicures, pedicures, hair styling, detox linen wraps, past-life regression massages and anti-aging facials.

The Details
Not designed for overly masculine sensibilities, the four guest rooms are decorated with ruffles, lace, teddy bears and period furnishings. Mornings begin with aromas of fresh-baked breads, biscuits, coffee cakes, eggs, bacon and home fries. You may choose to bunk down for a few nights, or to have the innkeepers take charge of a special occasion. Wedding parties can take advantage of house linens, crystal and china, as well as have every detail arranged, down to the Victorian lace-like cake.

This was the best idea anyone in New Orleans has ever come up with. A B&B and day spa all in one place. The rooms have been getting raves from Frommers and Fodors for years, but wait until they see the spa. Small, inviting and very relaxing. My massage was the best deap tissue work finished by a hot towel wipe. YUMMY. And I never felt rushed like they needed to get through and on to the next person. Well worth the stay at the B&B, and even more worth a visit if your not staying.

Pros: location, atmosphere, service

Cons: parking

My husband and I had our wedding at the Olde Vic and all I can say, is it was pure magic thanks to Keith and Andre. Keith and Andre welcomed us into their stunning home with open arms. Everything from our room, Chantilly, to the wedding and reception dinner was exquisite. My husband, a finicky eater, loved every dish. Definitely try their 914 5 course meal! Their suggestions for places to go, eateries and entertainment were top notch! Not once, did we have a less than spectacular meal! Their breakfast was delicious! I only wish I was able to sample more of their vast menu! I highly recommend a stay with Keith, Andre and their beautiful family!

Pros: Warm and Inviting, Friendly, Knowledgable
