RUDE RUDE RUDE. Went into Tommy's to discuss the need to biweekly dining table flowers. Stood at the flower case for several minutes. There was a man at the counter who was reading a magazine and a woman in the rear who was having a conversation with another woman who waa out of sight. There were no other customers in the store.

After several minutes I moved to stand in front of the man at the counter. He continued to read his magazine and refused to acknowledge my presence or need for assistance.

After several more minutes of being ignored although standing facing within 2 feet of this man I finally left the store in frustration, came home, and ordered the flowers from a florist Uptown.

Exquisite. If I ever have to order flowers in New Orleans again, I will call Tommy's.

It was Mother's Day weekend; I needed to order flowers for delivery in New Orleans, where my mother was house-sitting; I discovered that my favorite flower shop there had closed; and I had no idea who to call because I moved away several years ago. So I took a chance on Tommy's Flowers in the French Quarter, and I'm very happy I did.

They explained that they are not a teleflorist shop; their arrangements have a different look; and they carry high end flowers. I was concerned that my mother might not be home, so they said they would call her before the delivery, which they did. They described the flowers and types of arrangements to assist me in my selection.

My mother, who knows flowers very well, raved. She described the arrangement as "exquisite," and one of the most beautiful arrangements she has seen. She would have told me if there was anything substandard because she knows I would want to know what was sent. Also, my mother, who lived in the Quarter for most of her life (pre-Katrina) said she knew the original Tommy personally; she knew him when the shop first opened, and said he had trained a lot of florists in New Orleans.

So this is now my favorite florist in New Orleans. If you have high standards and want to be sure a beautiful arrangement will be sent, call them.

Tommy's. I picked Tommy's for my September 2009 wedding in Jackson Square. Since we were flying form California, we had to do the arrangements over the phone. I relayed what I wanted and the flowers turned out beautiful. Better than what I had envisioned. The price wasn't bad and the staff was so helpful throughout the process. Thank you Tommy's our flowers were beautiful.

Tropical and exotic flowers fills this organic flower shop.. In Short
Rows of flowers are displayed in glass vases, with potted plants scattered about. Flowers are more of the exotic and tropical variety here with a selection of orchids, tulips and the like. If you're looking for a gift basket or foil balloon to accent your flower selection, you'll have to look elsewhere. Tommy's sells only flowers.
