Stay Home Yuppies. This is a local bar.People from outa town need to be nice and respectful,or leave. this is where people dealing with drunk tourists for a living come to unwind. this is not La, chicago, or wiscoooonsin. This is the quarter post katrina and during BP oil spill. dnt expect for us to be fascinated cuz u just got into town and you tried a new strawbery mojito for the first time in a bottle on your 6pm delta flight. we dont care. And I see better fights in jws then ur yuppie ufc pay per views.so it may not be a sports bar,but it is the one place on this earth that has a 4am bourbon street football league. you wanna sit and have a shitty warm miller and complain its 3.50 while your staring at your 14k harley.cool.do it during sunday day.if you wanna see the real quarter be in this place at 5am any given day. then you will see where this email is really coming from. and by the way....if a dog bites you maybe you smell like kibble.

Not sure what you all consider a sports bar???. I am all about dive bars....trust me....but to call this a "sports bar" is a huge mistake. I was staying on Conti street during the Halloween weekend. I read some good reviews of this place so we all decided to stop by. It may be ok for a cheap drink if you can get a seat, but don't waste your time for a game.

Horribly misleading!

stuck up. One night, I walked in to patronize the bar that watches my bike so frequently when I go to the Quarter to have fun and meet my friends. I'm a Harley rider so, I appreciate the love. I ordered a drink - the bartender scowled and then I got bit by a big dog lounging on the floor by his masters drinking at the bar. There was no one there that even said, "I'm sorry" They didn't say anything because they couldn't care any less.

I really don't know how to take this other than they must be a bunch of people who drink ad nauseum and/or they are not only dysfunctional but sadists!

dump part 2. I competley agree with greyrooster99; this place is no sports bar. I was told that Johnny Whites Sports Bar was a possible place to watch a Saints game, and having visited Johnny Whites on St. Peters many times, thought I would give it a try. I was extremely disappointed; I asked the bartender if there was another room and I was told this was it. Barely any room, tiny TV(s), and dirty. We did not stick around to find out if they even had food. This is the last place I would go to watch a game.

Johnny Whites on St. Peters is a great little hole in the wall with a great juke.

Short on space but long on character, atmosphere and devotion to local institutions.. The Scene
This cozy hangout sits at one of the busiest intersections along bawdy Bourbon Street, attracting a broad cross-section of tourists and local characters. Street performers in full costume take breaks here, sipping Budweiser from cans while grooving to Ray Charles or Tom Waits on the CD jukebox. A life-size replica of legendary New Orleans eccentric Ruthie the Duck Girl leans against a street lamp in a tableau obviously dismantled from a Mardi Gras float.

The Draw

Given the prohibitive intimacy of this tiny corner bar, you won't find any dartboards or pool tables. But there's plenty of game atmosphere, courtesy of murals depicting local sports heroes, including the Saints, Tulane and "Pistol" Pete Maravich. Four mounted televisions tuned to cable sports channels keep patrons abreast of the latest athletic action.

Hooray for Johnny White's!. Three cheers for staying open throughout Hurricane Katrina. It's great to see that places are re-opening now, but I'm seriously impressed that Johnny White's never closed. :)

Best Bloody Marys..... If you like Bloody Marys, you have GOT to go to Johnny White's....first thing in the morning, of course. Perry and Whitney both make the most AMAZING Bloody Marys.

Yes, the bar is small. But I love that. And it's a great place to meet locals. I met so many interesting people there. You really get a feel for the town. And you can get a lot of good information from locals (places to eat and party) that most tourists never know about.....

dump. You have to be kidding. This place is a dump. Filthy restroom, (upstairs). No food. How can anyone seriously call this a sports bar. Has room for 12 customers.
