Best Croissant in New Orleans....or anywhere.

Used to live just down the block and had breakfast there daily. Soft, flaky always extraordinary Besides hand made daily with pure butter and fresh fruit and other varities..none lacking.. The ambienance is set with large flower vases on the counters and smaller ones on each table. The authentic French accents of the owners were very nice and always friendly. It's the first place I go when in the French Quarter. The other is Napoleans and their Muffalata
- Pros: Excellent all the time. Quiet not found by tourists...yet.
dissappointed

This place has great atmosphere and the breads and pastries are excellent.
Unfortunately I made the mistake of ordering a ham & cheese sandwich and that's why my rating is only "average". Instead of a nice Black Forest Ham, Brie or Swiss cheese and a classy dijon mustard, they used Spam, American cheese, iceberg lettuce and yellow package mustard! I've had better sandwiches in public schools. They could do a little better with their choice of ingredients. Easy to fix. Otherwise stick to the coffee and pastries. You won't be disappointed.
A hidden treasure

Hidden out of the way in the French Quarter, this small restaurant has both breakfast pastries and cold sandwiches, so it's definitely a good choice for breakfast or lunch should you happen to be near Ursulines. My particular favorite pastry is the Napoleon, but avoid the hot chocolate! It's awful. It's definitely a place you should visit at least once. Service is cafeteria-style--don't expect to sit down and have a waitress come take your order.
- Pros: Charming, nice selection
- Cons: small, out of the way
