I wasted almost $700

I brought my VW in a few months ago because the ABS indicator light was on. They said that I would need a new ABS control unit and quoted me a price just over $1000 for parts and labor and I would have to pre-pay for the part which was about $800. I needed a few weeks to get the money together and when I did I walked over with the estimate and told him I was ready to have the repair done. The owner (?) said he'd call me when he could get my car in to fix it. Several weeks went by and I was never called. The problem was getting worse so I called around and got quotes from other auto shops and I got a quote for about $200 less than Crescent City Auto quoted me. I paid for the part and brought the car in for the work. An hour or so later the auto shop called and said that the problem was misdiagnosed. It was just a faulty sensor. The part I ordered was not returnable so I wasted almost $700. Not only was Crescent City Auto unprofessional for not calling me back but my car was also misdiagnosed which caused me to waste an outrageous amount of money. I feel really sick about this.

Citysearch makes you give at least one star but I would give it none if I could.

good friendly service

I'm from out of town and had car trouble. Crescent City was nearby. I got there early and dropped the car off. They checked it out within an hour and completed the repair before noon, all for a reasonable charge. The guys in the shop were very friendly and didn't try to do more than I asked them to look at.

Honest and Helpful

Kevin and the other guys are extremely personable, knowledgeable and HONEST, a rare quality for mechanics. As a young woman, I have experienced mechanics who try to take advantage of me because they think I don't know what I'm talking about. From the first time I walked in here I felt comfortable and was never lied to. They do great work for the most reasonable prices, and my car has lasted longer because of it. Doesn't have a parking lot but what garage does? I will go here for any car need, be it an oil change or replacing a transmission.

Awful Customer Service

THere is nowhere to park your car if you tow it there. you have to leave your car somewhere on magazine street if the tow truck can get it into a spot. In addition, these people have no idea what it means to serve a customer and leave them happy. THey think simply because they have a great location they can take their customers for granted.

Don't go here!
