Employees are rude for no reason. I am a local, I have been to the Bulldog Uptown many times. I love the patio and their beer selection. The pub food is also very tasty- However, I've had it with their horrible employees. Today, I took friends who were here from out of town there for lunch, and the two guys behind the food counter were a-holes. This has been pretty standard, but today was just awful. I was so embarassed and I will never go back there. I can't believe someone would sign a paycheck and hand it to those jerks- horrible business decision. We sat on the patio, and EVERYONE who was sitting out there having food was talking about how rude those guys were. I don't know who the owner is- but when you finally hire people who won't treat customers like the dirt, please advertise, because I would be first in line to come back and enjoy what I know could be the BEST pub in the uptown area. Until then, I will spend my money somewhere the employees make me at least feel welcome.
best pub. Really fun pub with a huge selection of beers. They have a great patio with a really fun beer tap fountain. They also allow dogs on leash. Good place to watch games on the screen, they always play great music, and wednesdays they do drink specials and you keep all your pint glasses. They do good pub food as well; the burgers aren't bad but not the best in town, but their waffle cut fries are amazing. It can get pretty packed though, so seating can be hard to find.
A beer lover's oasis on Magazine Street, one of NOLA's most dog-friendly bars..
In Short
With wooden booths, this casual pub-like bar stands out for its extensive beer list. There are 50 beers on tap (Paulaner, Spaten) and 100 more in bottles (Chimay, Bitburger). Bulldog takes beer so seriously that it pumps a special combination of nitrogen and C02 into drafts, never lets beer touch air, and even uses special detergent on pint glasses, all to ensure the best flavor. The menu features a half-pound burger, crawfish banditos and giant burritos. Dogs are welcome on the spacious sidewalk patio.
great if you have a dog!. they have a good happy hour, the bartenders could be a lot friendlier, though. the cheese fries are delicious.
