An Uptown favorite due to its convenient location, wide selection of pastries and coffees and relaxing atmosphere.. The Scene
This popular CC's location is marked by its wide-open design, wood-panel flooring and a picture window view of Magazine Street (complete with outdoor tables). Arty black-and-white photos of musical legends, from George Clinton to Johnny "Guitar" Watson, line the walls. The place feels very much like a gift shop with its retail offerings of coffee mugs, T-shirts, espresso machines--and even soothing music CDs. A colorful and well-dressed cross section of students, neighborhood residents and cell-phone-toting professionals flock to this place.

The Food
Satisfy your sweet tooth with a delicious array of cookies, croissants, pastries (try the chocolate cream pie) and Ghiardelli chocolate bars. Coffee-wise, CC's offers a cornucopia of blends from different world regions, including Central America and the Middle East. Purchase good old Community Coffee or enjoy the popular "Mochasippi."

Always Reliable. CC's has expanded into the FQ. The view isn't the same as at their Magazine St. location but everything else is just as reliably good. I'm one of those who believe CC's should start selling their coffee nationally. This is a smaller location but a very friendly one.
