This place is why we stay in New Orleans.
My wife and I stay in New Orleans at least once a month. We always stay in the Garden district and love Superior Grill. My wife loves the ribs. Last time I have the beef brisket tacos and they were the most unique tacos I ahve ever had. The margaritas are always good too and it is just a short ride to down town if you want to have fun. It is a Mexican restaurant and you do have the feel of Mexico when you are there.

Someone Should Shut This Place Down!!!.
We visited the Superior Grill on a Friday during lunch, while visiting New Orleans. We were looking for something authentic to New Orleans and the name of the restaurant sounded like it would be. Our first notion this was not an authentic N O restaurant was when we saw baskets of tortilla chips. The Superior Grill turned out to be your "run of the mill" mexican restaurant. My wife and I, and our two 4 year olds, decided to stay, that is where we went wrong. We should have left!! When the waters came to the table, my glass and straw looked like it had been used (food all over them). The same occured with my wife's coke. I ordered another drink and the same happened with the second drinks, food particles floating in the drinks. I discovered all the drinks came from the bar and know from experience, bartenders don't clean glasses. We ordered chicken strips for the kids and split a taco. The chicken strips came out with black particles in the batter which turned out to be grill marks. They took grilled chicken and battered it and deep fried it. I tasted it and it was a terrible combination. Our taco came out on a very used plate, with dried particles of food on the plate. Neadless to say, we did not eat any. Where we sat we got to watch the bus boy, aka: server, aka: chip distributer; clean tables, using the previous customers napkins. Then go back into the back and scoop chips to be served. Never once washing his hands and sometimes wiping his hands with the same nampkins the previous customer used and the table he quickly wiped down. He also carried out waters to tables and was holding the glasses with his palms over the glass opening and on at least one occasion with his fingers in the glass opening to carry the glasses. The is a heatlh crissis waiting to happen. Highly Recommend to GO SOMEWHERE ELSE, unless you like eating someone elses food!!!

Highly overrated.
We recently had dinner at Superior Grill. The restaurant came highly recommended to us from several people but we were very disappointed. The service was very bad. Our server seemed put off by fact that he had to wait on us. Service can be an isolated incident but the food was very disappointing. When we go out for Mexican food we expect a lot of flavor in the cooking. Our dinners were very bland and tasted very Americanized like any dish you could get at any chain Mexican restaurant. On top of that the food was poorly prepared and not fresh. One of my enchiladas was supposed to be spinach and cheese. The spinach was clearly packaged frozen spinach that was not drained. Not only was it not fresh but it made the whole enchilada soggy. My girlfriend ordered a dish that had diced chicken in it. Once again the chicken was clearly pre cooked, packaged, then reheated. There was no attempt to flavor the chicken at all. The margaritas were very good but, like the rest of the meal, was overpriced for what you got.
We prefer more authentic Mexican restaurants that add more flavor to their dishes. We were very suprised that in a city with such good restaurants Superior Grill came so highly recomended.

BEST TIME EVER!!!.
We always have the best time ever when we go to Superior Grill. Everything from the food to the drinks to the service is the best I've had in NOLA. The view from the patio is awesome and it's great for the kiddos, too!!! Try the shrimp brochetas (jumbo butterfly shrimp stuffed with cheese and wrapped in bacon)...they're CRAVABLE!!! It's ALWAYS our first stop when we visit NOLA!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Best Food, Great appearance, the best service..
We went on a Saturday evening. The food was like I had never had before. Every thing was fresh. The restaurant was clean and full of people having a good time. lots of birthdays going on but not enough to bother anyone. Their were couples on dates, families, and lots of friends meeting there for a good night of fun and food. The waiter and waitress were really up to the task. They are still remodeling. The hostess was so sweet. The whole evening was such a good one for my family. Hubby and I had a great dinner a few drinks and the whole cost was only $50.00. But we left the waitress a $20.00 tip. She was great. When you go there ask for Malory. I have been to lots of restraunts that it was so stuffy. The people were dressed in a varity of clothes to dressie to casual to every day clothes,

South of the border fare on the south side of the Avenue..
The Scene
The windowed dining rooms glow with colored light-strings and neon signs for domestic and Mexican cervezas. The formality of white-clothed tables and red-brick walls is further softened by ethnic bric-a-brac and a festively decorated bar area, while the open kitchen gives bustle to the laid-back atmosphere. Ceiling fans and sweet margaritas make the long covered patio comfortable, even in summer.
The Food
Complimentary chips and salsa are worth nibbling, but save room--the restaurant lives up to its name portion-wise. Start with the Superior quesadillas, starring either chicken or beef mesquite grilled; a half-order is enough for two diners awaiting entrees. Two mini taco salads made with ground beef or chicken comprise the crispy puff taco dinner, and the Superior burrito is a behemoth of traditional tortilla-wrapped fixings awash in a creamy cheese sauce--both come with refried beans and Mexican rice.

Best Patio Dining in New Orleans.
They have the BEST outdoor seating on the Avenue...sip great margaritas, eat sizzling fajitas, feed the kids, and watch the street cars pass...if the weather's nice, you can find us at Superior on the patio!!

Superior Everything!.
I read about Superior Grill in the local paper so my wife and I decided to go. We didn't make a mistake. The food is really, really good. Now, each time we travel to New Orleans, we make the effort to go here. In fact, the last time we were on our way to Carnival Conquest for a one week cruise, but we had to stop here first! The only negative is park -- It can be a pain to find a parking sport hereby.

Been there, done that.
While been out of NOLa, Superior Grill is really one of the places are missed, its ambience, its Margaritas, its "botanas", servers and patrons, all together make a very special place.
Hope to get back soon to NOLa, and promisse it will be a place to be back.
