obnoxious bartender. dirty and close, and the bartender is rude... typical jewish bar. Not much fun.

no parking, bartender calls the police on his customers if he doesn't like them.

Great music and atmosphere. I love the Circle Bar. There's always great music and the bartenders rock! This place reminds me of the old Mermaid Lounge which closed last year. A hip late night crowd, not yet infiltrated by tourists. Amazing jukebox. Definitely a random area for a bar to be located, not much else around there, but it's on the way to the quarter. parking can be tricky. also Lee circle has gotten a bit more dangerous lately.

An outpost of casual cool and live music where downtown and a Robert E. Lee monument meet the Garden District.. The Scene
Since it opened in 1999, Circle Bar (one of the businesses encircling a statue of Robert E. Lee) has built on the popularity of the site's former establishment, the fringe favorite Fleur de Lee. Space is at a premium, whether you're edging your way past the bar to the restrooms or angling for a seat in the tiny performance area. The intimate environs only heighten the surreal aspects of the place. The crowd consists of cooler-than-thou college students, local musicians (some of whom you may find working the bar), refugee hipsters from the Ninth Ward and particularly adventurous tourists.

The Draw
It's become a necessary stop on most hip night crawlers' itineraries, thanks to a loose, friendly vibe and a roster of eclectic acts leaning to the indie-rock side. Irreverent acts including Alex McMurray, the Geraniums and Rotary Downs play the homey performance room regularly.

One of the best for music. This is THE place to go to see some killer live bands that you won't see anywhere else in the city...in addition to the bands, they have one of the best garage dj nights in the city, and the bartenders are friendly. I seem to be here almost every weekend for some event!
