I will never attempt to shop there again. I just left Uptown Costume on Magazine Street. As soon as I stepped in the door I was not greeted with a welcome but a look then told that I had to leave my purse at the door. OMG I could not believe that, I can understand shopping bags but my purse with my phone, cash, credit cards, SS card, Camera and other valueable things. I told them I would put this on my social networking sites. And the little bobble head said OK. So here my dear here it is, I hope you enjoy. I have faced rudeness in there before but I just though that the person was having a bad day. Well I will let my entire Mardi Gras organization the is comprised of 2000 women of all races not to shop there. They obviously do not value customers.

rude and prejudice. I went into shop to get something for my daughter for school. We were meet at the door not with a hello nor a welcome. But an uncle tom telling me to check my medium size handbag. After realizing he'd made a mistake about my handbag he said go ahead. None of the white associates , ask if they could help me or my child. the manger ask what did the man want at the door, I explained he wanted my purse and was not getting it because it had all of my belonging in it , plus cash. She replied by saying I should have my money in my pocket not my purse. So my child and I left the store. I ask my white friend to return with my purse, she was asked no questions about the purse and she said someone ask to help her but she still thought that they were rude.

Never open!. I've never been able to reach them by phone -- ever. Most of the time when they're supposed to open they're not. What's the point of having a unique business when it's never open? I'll take the extra time to go to Vieux Carre Hair Shop on Maple!

Best Costumes Anywhere. I was so impressed with the costumes in stock and the wonderful assistance I received from the young lady helping me (Andrea). It is obvious that she enjoys her job and working with customers to fine just the right costume for the occasion. I would recommend anyone looking for a costume to go to Uptown Costumes and ask for ANDREA!!

Uptown Costume - Enter at your own risk!. Terrible Service, Rude employees that dont know their products. Owner physically attacks customers every halloween! BEWARE!
