Rude staff
by foremaja
After paying $5.50 for local brew beer in an semi-empty bar, the staff could at least not be rude. We left after one beer. Don't recommend this place until they learn common courtesy. We won't go back.
- Pros: Great location, nice selection of beer
- Cons: Staff is rude

an hourlong documentary produced by the Danish video team,
who captured Janak, beer in hand, gloating about hunting humans.
Surrounded by a crowd of sunburned white Algiers Point locals at a barbeque held not long after the hurricane, he
smiles and tells the camera, "It was great! It was like pheasant season in South Dakota. If it moved, you shot it."
A native of Chicago, Janak also boasts of becoming a true Southerner, saying, "I am no longer a Yankee. I earned
my wings." A white woman standing next to him adds, "He understands the N-word now."
Janak, who says he'd been armed with two .38s and a shotgun, brags about keeping the bloody shirt worn
by a shooting victim as a trophy.
- Pros: Near the old evacuation bus pick-up site
- Cons: Not welcome if you aren't white
great sandwiches, cute atmosphere and location
by justgorgeous
Stumbled on this place after having to take a friend to the courthouse in Algiers. Algiers Point is a really cute area if you've never been there. We wandered in and got a table quickly. My club sandwich was oustanding, and my friend really enjoyed his roast beef poboy. There were a few locals hanging out at the bar chatting with the bartender. Very friendly waitress.
- Pros: cheap, good service
