Yum. Great coffee, great beinets and it was so inexpensive. You can't leave New Orleans until you go here.

Sidenote; you can also use the bathroom here even if your not a customer, some other places won't let you.

Cafe Du Monde. I died and went to Heaven at Cafe Du Monde. If one does nothing else while in New Orleans, be sure to go to Cafe Du Monde. It is an experience in itself! I don't miss it whenever we go to visit.

It's a unique experience and one suitable for everyone in the family.

Bathrooms Are The Worst. I would have to say that the restroom is the most disgusting, foul smelling I have ever seen in a public place before. I realize that there are really no public restrooms and many people use this because of that reason. But it is right off of the kitchen and so gross. They are exremely busy and open 224 hours a day. But couldn't they clean them? The beignet's are great. I even had a dog I purchased and had flown in from New Orleans 15 years ago and I named her Beignet. That is how good the beignets are. Just stay away from the restroom there if you can avoid it.

Pure French Quarter. This place is great. Close to the river, there's always a crowd and most of the time a live band. The pedestrians will keep you entertained. Tables inside and outside (I suggest outside). The Beignets will simply melt in your mouth - and what's a Beignet without some of their delicious coffee... or you might want to try a Latte'. Anything you get from this place is guaranteed delicious.

Sprinkle Yourself!. Besides Mardi Gras, this is what my children remember about New Orleans. It's always open, and it's just a streetcar and a short walk away. The Beignets (yes, uppercase for these little pastries) are, in the New Orleans vernacular, "to die for." If you're allergic to confectionairy sugar - don't go! It remains an argument in our family as to whether the remains show more sugar on the plates or on us! Strong coffee (chickaree), good hot chocolate and cheap prices help makes this bustling establishment a household name.
