What a great little bar. This is a great little treasure still tucked away in Chalmette, La. Even with all the changes that Katrina has caused in "Da Parish", this little neighborhood pub still maintains its original character. You can walk in any time of the day and are bound to run into someone you know from your old "hood". The bar has been remodeled, like all others since Katrina, but has stayed true to the original design which truly gives it that homey feeling of pre-Katrina days. The weekend nights are a true blast from the past when they bring in live bands to play swamp pop music and you see all of the down the road old timers (and you gotta be from the parish to know what that means-ha, ha) come on out and shake there groove thing and have a great old time like nothing has changed. What a refreshing break from the mundane everyday world of trying to get our lives back together down here. I would recommend Lou's for a good night out to anybody who remembers what it was like to be from the parish back in the good old days.
