Best at what he does...hands down..
I hope this is the last time I have to have Doctor Clasen attend to my hand. Not because of a negative experience, but because the pain in my wrist, the reason I saw the good doctor in the first place, was excruciating, nausiating even. If I ever have another problem with my hands or wrists, I'm going to Dr. Clasen.
As I read in other testimonials, the wait was the only thing I would complain about if I was so inclined, which I am not. I've been to restaurants where I had to wait a long time, but the product, the food, was fantastic. the medical product from Dr. Clasen, like the food at a great restaurant, was well worth the wait. Anyone who focuses on the personal service at the desk, or the waiting period, needs to find another doctor. They will probably find a shorter line and a shorter waiting period because there won't be many patients.
DR. CHARLES CLASEN IS A HIGHLY SKILLED SURGEON AND HEALER OF HANDS AND HEARTS.
I was a patient of Harold Stokes during a crucial period in my life, when surgery on both hands for carpal tunnel releases was necessary after a work related accidental fall where I landed on both hands. While the releases were a necessary step in my recovery process, Dr. Stokes was adamant in his written reports to workers comp that my injuries "were bi-lateral and possibly coming from my neck." He was correct in his diagnosis and cervical neck surgery was necessary as part of my recovery. Today I am living the best life possible with permanent nerve damage caused from a conservatve workers comp approach.
Now, a few years later enters Dr. Charles Clasen when my gifted, multi-talented mechanic son has a critical injury to his dominant hand. Without a doubt, Hand Surgical is the only team for the job. From the moment I met Dr. Clasen in East Jeff Emergency, the healing process started. I trust Dr. Clasen with my son's life, which is a huge statement. Through two surgeries, the Doc has meticously reconstructed his hand and shattered wrist. Today, a month post-op, there is movement and feeling in all five fingers and wrist. Oh, did I mention this was an accidental 40-caliber gunshot injury? If I didn't have your attention before, I should definately have it now...
Now, getting to the office; wait time, staff, etc.
As human beings, we are not perfect....sorry.....we are all different personalities, have personal issues AND a job to do! This office is busy! Phones ringing, scheduling appointments, insurance/money exchanges, etc.
Yes, make it easy on yourself; bring a book or do something to calm yourself! Breathe deeply and relax.... realize you are one of many special people waiting to see these highly skilled surgeons.....but realize that you are in need of healing....accept that, be still and wait...When you see Dr. Clasen, he will be focused on you and your injury/healing. He will answer your concerns and questions. YOUR HEALING HAS BEGUN!
Not really thrilled. Dr. Clasen did a great job, but OMG I had to wait forever to actually get to see the doctor. I recommend bringing snacks and a good book, maybe War and Peace to make the time fly faster for the up to three hour wait I experienced more than once. I think whoever books the appointments needs to re-evaluate the process of overscheduling. ALso, I am on the phone as I type and it is hard to get a person to actually answer the freaking phone.
Great doctor, aweful customer service. I am a patient of Dr. Clasen, who is new to their practice. Although I am very happy with the surgery he performed on my arm, the office is aweful to deal with. They treat you as if it is a priviledge for me to be a patient of theirs. You can't get a live person on the phone, you continue to be transferred to a voice prompter, and then, after spending countless minutes on the phone routing you to the appropriate person, you HAVE to leave a message. In an emergency, don't make the mistake of requesting to be routed back to the operator, becuase you are then treated with a scolding about how you HAVE to leave a message. In other words, she has already routed your call, so don't bother her again. DO NOT make the mistake of calling the after hours emergency service, because they are as abrupt and disconcerned with your pain as the office staff, AND WILL ACTUALLY TELL YOU THAT. DO NOT think that just because you have an appointment (which in actualality will only take 5 minutes), you are made to wait no less than 90 minutes to get into see the doctor. Its as if my time is not valuable at all. DO NOT think that the "WE HOPE YOU ARE SATISFIED AND WANT YOUR COMMENTS" flyer they have in the office is anything more than their attempt to reduce the amount of trees in the forest, because you never receive a response, and in fact, the Office Administrator wouldn't even return my calls. I have had surgery on my arm, and I have seen Dr. Clasen for a total of 10 minutes cumulative. If you can put up with horrible treatment by the sterile, uncaring office, this is the place. Since you can NEVER talk to the doctor and let them know about the lousy service, I hope this review makes it to Dr. Clasen as I want him to know just how terrible an experience it was for me, and hopefully he can make a change.
