Bottom Feeder for Seafood. Visited this establishment only on rare occasions in the past, although quite convenient for me. My experiences in the past were mediocre food, average service, and sub par atmosphere. Well, I was taking a client to lunch, and since our 1st choice was closed for lunch, Don's happened to be nearby. I decided to give it one more try.

My entree was fried shrimp, that were so SALTY and surely they were FROZEN shrimp, but the salt was overcoming. My lips were parched, and had to consume several glasses of water. I tasted the onion rings, which were just as salty. The other person ordered an Etoufee dish, which he commented was okay.

I mentioned to the server the food was very salty, and she could have cared less.

Don's will definitely be on my X list in the future. I read Don's advertisement, "been in business since 1934!!" That is shocking with all the quality seafood restaurants in our area that Don's could have survived 78 hours, muchless 78 years.

Nice atmospher/layout but the FOOD WAS HORRIBLE!. Last time I went to Don's Seafood I swore I would never return. My mistake---went with the family to have a nice Sunday afternoon meal. Ordered Broiled Seafood Platter and a cup of gumbo. The gumbo came and I was mixing the rice in and noted the shrimp look raw. I looked closer and sure enough the shrimp was not cooked at all---quite disgusting and could have made me sick as was my last visit to Don's. Sent it back and the waiter agreed the shrimp were not cooked. The broiled seafood platter comes out and the seafood was swimming in butter/grease, not sure exactly what the liquid was but it was not what I considered a broiled seafood platter. I asked the waiter if he could go put the plate in the broiler and actually broil the food and maybe absorb some of the liquid. He said they dont use a broiler, they put it on the grill-- It's unfortunate- the atmosphere/layout of the restaurant is very nice, the waiter was attentive however the FOOD IS HORRIBLE! I will never return. Tip to the owner---GET NEW COOKS!

Best food in town. I had a very good waitress she had experience I could tell because she told me that the seafood was out of this world and I took her for it. I had crab cakes and loved them I say that the serves was not lazy she was a woman on a mission to serve those crab cakes and I was there to eat them. I am from out of town and never had crab cakes like Don's that is why I rated them Five Stars. If you ever go to Don's and want a good waitress look for a 5'4 woman did not remember her name but she always was there when I needed her and get the crab cakes they were out of this world!
