OVERPRICED and NOT LOYAL TO REPEAT CUSTOMERS. Absolutely overpriced!!! We go there every Friday night and still are not recognized as repeat customers or regarded as such. As a previous service industry employee, I know how to treat the people who come in all the time. This place does NOT! Never going back there again after tonight. If bars want to nickle and dime those who frequent their place of business and bring friends to spend their money there too, then they should at the VERY LEAST offer a free round of beers. Again, this place will not take care of those who bring them business. If you're looking for a neighborhood bar to treat you as a valued customer, this is NOT the place. I was so disgusted after receiving my bill that I could not even bring myself to tip them 20%, which as a previous service industry employee I do as a must. When I go to a bar and spend money on pool and beers all night, I believe that a free round of beers (2) should be extended. Why else would I want to go back? I want to feel welcome, remembered, and appreciated. They don't need to remember my name, but, I guess, forgive me if I'd like to feel wanted at their place of business where I help pay their income.
Best burgers in Metry. Great burgers, not too loud inside, plenty of places to sit, a little smokey but not too bad. Nice late night hang out.
Hangout that satisfies your hunger for fun and more..
The Scene
Half restaurant and half neighborhood watering hole for twenty- to fortysomething middle-class Metairites. About a dozen tables accommodate dining patrons in the dark murmur of the space's left side. Off to the right, a jukebox sings pop classics across a long recreation area: Dart boards line the nearby wall while three pool tables handle the action at the back. A narrow horseshoe of a bar connects the rooms; Marilyn Monroe memorabilia shares wallspace in both areas with TVs and neon beer signs.
The Food
Less typical "bar food" than expected. Instead of fried appetizers, Oscar's serves a decent spinach dip and unremarkable chips and salsa. Basic sandwiches dominate the small menu, but the house version of the muffaletta--served on French bread--stands out. The real draw, however, is Oscar's half-pound burger: hefty, chargrilled and served with a baked potato. It's one of the best in town.
good selection. Good selection of beer and the cute bartenders serving that beer
