best chinese food in new orleans. I must disagree with patriot2. shirleys food is the best. Have you ever been to Clancys. I saw a 10pound Roach crawl up the wall.it can happen anywhere. shirleys is family. There is no one like Shirley . she is kind and giving . her husband is the best chef

Bring a can of Raid. Had dinner there one night after hearing so many people rave about it. Big Mistake.

The place is small and nasty.I mean dirty nasty. The tables and floor were dirty. The food didn't match up to the frozen Chinese food you put in the microwave. You can't get a cup of soup, it comes in a bucket that could feet a dozen people. I think they used some rotten eggs.

To top off the eventing, the waitress walked by and swatted a ROACH crawling on the wall just feet from my wife. I saw 2 more before we left.

Needless to say, my wife didn't ' let me choose the restaurant for a month after that.

The people are nice howeve.

"Miss Shirley's" has GREAT Dim Sum, to order. We were missing dim-sum type food, when a friend who lives in the area told us of "Miss Shirley's". This is the best we have found in LA. Regular menu is typical Chinese restaurant fare, pretty good. But Dim Sum menu is all cooked-to-order and is wonderful. Take your pocket knife.

Local Chinese-Americans flock here.

Super Quailty Chinese Food. This is not your everyday chinese restaurant. The food is always fresh, made to order, and uses quality ingredients. The hot and sour soup is the best I have ever had anywhere at any time. The decor isn't much to look at, but the restaurant more than makes up for it with the food. They also have wonderful hot teas for a cold day. This is also the only place in the city that does dim sum! Give it a try and I promise you won't be disappointed!!!

the best in the city. royal china is by far the best chinese rest. in the city. and the only one to offer traditional dim sum. shirley,the owner goes above and beyond to accomodate her patrons and will help you order,and explain what any dish on the menu is. her food is so fresh,and everything is made to order

including her soups,so have patience. but oh boy is it worth the wait. my friends and family go nowhere else for chinese food!!!!
