My son bought a leather "Durable Mahogany" sectional sofa from Comeaux 2 1/2 years ago. He even bought the 5 yr damage warranty. The sofa began peeling its leather soon after the one year factory warranty expired. I spoke with the manager who immediately said there was nothing they could do. When I suggested that their merchandise was of poor quality, he said, "we can end this right here". When I told him we would not be back, he walked away. They need better personnel, better merchandise and to stand behind their merchandise like Hurwitz Mintz has always done. My son made a big mistake in going there!
Disappointed in AFD. It has always been family tradition to shop at our local Comeaux store. I still sleep on the original magahony bedset I purchased from the Metairie store a few years ago. Since moving to the northshore I headed straight for AFD. Unfortunately, after shopping over 45 min. and ready to pay for a sofa package, I was told by Jerry, the store manager, that that deal was an error. Surely after mentioning we were repeat customers, some kind of deal would be worked out to benefit both AFD and the customer. I called Jerry soon after leaving the store to express my cocern, but his only response was I am sorry for the human error. The Comeuax family business will no longer hold a place in my heart, as you have lost this local customer and I will spread the word to family and friends.
Customer Service Bad. I was highly disappointed with my recent purchase of a set of queen mattress. The sales rep was very nice however it was not disclose to us that once we purchase the set and if we were not please with the comfort, we could not bring the mattress back for an exchange or refund. When I spoke with the manager he advised me that it is not their store policy to disclose that information to us. So that means we are stuck like chuck with a mattress set that we can not sleep on and paid $700 for.

Follow your first mind. My experience was a total disappointment. I was referred by a friend whose taste is very good, to look into this store for a bedroom set. I was dead set on a particular item at RTG but took a chance. The bedroom set I chose here was extravagant but the sales rep was eager for a sale. First, she promised me a discount which I did not receive. Then she gave me a delivery date of 2 weeks later after the purchase date which did not happen until a month later. Then the delivery company said they only deliver in my area on Fridays. Called to find out the delivery time... the end of the day; 2pm-6pm. A day of work totally gone down the drain waiting on a delivery. This overall experience with Comeaux's has been a total disaster!!! Won't happen to me again. I will not return.
GUARANTEED LOWEST PRICE FURNITURE STORE. These people are the best. The prices are the best and they do not advertise as a rule....to pass this savings on to the customer. I believe it. I've shopped around and see the same furniture and appliance at Comeaux has a lower price by 10-20% than any other store it shopped.
great facelift on building. somebodies got to pay for that facelift;) why not us... the furniture customers?!
One top notch appliance specialist. Thankfully we had a great appliance specialist in Tom {Doc] Gordon. the man listened to our unique needs and designs and taylored a kitchen to order. We needed everything and Tom gave the plusses and minuses on every option that we had. He should actually have his own appliance store, and its a shame he isnt because we would send every single person we know to him. everything was set and Tom gave us the timetables. we breathed a huge sigh of releif. then he got word that the factory couldnt get us our merchandise for another 6-8 weeks later than the agreed on time. Tom told us it hadnt been ordered when the request was put in. After practically begging to get the pieces ordered, it was finally granted. this more than doubled the time it took for our appliance to arrive to our domicile. Still we appreciate Mr. Gordon's efforts, knowledge and work ethic.
Disappointed. we purchased an entire bedroom set by univeral furniture factories. It was delivered badly damaged and we tried to reject it, but the driver said that we had to take it and a repairman would be sent out. after 12 calls over the next week we scheduled a repairman to come to us. he showed up two hours later than my wife could be ther and they blamed us. we attempted to reschedule and they played pass the phone in the office. we heard the manager tell an office worker that he wasnt here! another two weeks passed and a repairman finally scheduled with us. then he tells us it would[the dresser, and chest] have to be reordered because the wood was damaged beyond repair. we said fine, but are still waiting going on three months. the customer is always wrong here.
Worst "Furniture" Store in La.. Our experience is a nightmare. First our salesman Frank lied to us about a dining room set and hutch being available. We put down the full amount, only to learn later that it was discontinued! Fine we said, give us our refund. He said he couldnt do that! The manager is a fat spaced out guy named Jim also told us in slurred speech that he couldnt refund our money and that we'd have to reselect. We asked to speak to the owner but Jim said that wasnt possible that he was at market or something. Another salesman said he was in fact in his office with the shades drawn! We think Jim was either drunk or high, and he kept forgetting what our problem was. we reminded him several times after he started asking us if we had broken the seal on the mattress! we hadnt purchased a mattress!!! terrible incompetant pass the buck company. We are still in limbo after we finally found another set which had to be ordered. Its not in yet and Jim and our salesman both quit or got fired. terrible experience!
