Best place for beignets and coffee. I like this place even better than Cafe du Monde because you don't have to fight the crowd and it's a much more comfortable place to lounge around, drink coffee, and eat beignets. Heed the Call. Morning Call is Metairie's own unique spin on Cafe du Monde, set in a run-down strip mall next to a surly magazine stand on prime "Met'ry" real estate a nutria scamper away from "Fat City." There's no Decatur Street patio dining here, but the people-watching opportunities are exceptional, especially as the night winds on into morning. The less-is-all decor is a bit run-down in good lighting, but that only adds to the Call's hole-in-the-wall charm.
