The Scene – This former chain pizza site has a pleasantly informal feel and a loyal following. Choose from tables near the windows, a wall seat in the minimally decorated dining room or a stool at the bar (our favorite). – – The Food – The sushi bar is a hive of friendly activity and a great place to learn about the intricacies of the fishy delicacy, but the menu also offers a range of fried, grilled and otherwise cooked Japanese specialties. On a recent visit, the chef recommended the albacore sushi: delicately carved white tuna atop a pat of wasabi-spiked rice,…
AUTHENTIC JAPANESE FOOD!!!
by Minatsuchan
I have absolutely fallen in love with this place! Being born and raised in Japan, I often miss the taste of home and come here every chance I get! My favorite is a meal which features broiled fish, miso soup, rice, pickles, sashimi...the works! A VERY traditional TRUE to Japanese meal! How refreshing is it to get your miso soup WITH your meal instead of as an appetizer!
I love that it's not "Asian-Fusion" but still has a few "specialty" rolls for people who like more generic Japanese food and it also features a Hibachi grill. This place is definitely for the ones who want to know what a REAL Japanese dining experience is like without Americanizing the whole culture! Even being greeted with "Irasshaimase!!"
I talk about this restaurant to all of my friends and would recommend it to anyone and everyone!
- Pros: authentic, tastes great, large variety of food
- Cons: can be a bit busy at times
Boring hibachi, mediocre sushi
by cadang
Quality is not as good as Benihana. The hibachi chef was really bored and sloppy, but the food looked good. I ordered sushi, and I call it mediocre because there were no special rolls and I wouldn't say it tasted neither great nor horrible, but I wouldn't host "Sushi Night" here. Seating took a moderate amount of time, we went around 6 on Tuesday and it took about 15-30 minutes to seat 6.
husband's daily refuge
by krisjfour
The cooks are amazing and the food is great! My husband eats there so much the chefs know him by name! If you are looking for an exciting way to dine, sit at the Habachi table and have a good time.
- Pros: fun for a romantic dinner or with the whole family. My 1 year old loves to watch the tricks
- Cons: could be a bigger restaurant
