So great I almost fainted..
I'm a local of the french quarter and cannot say how much I enjoy this store. Even though I may leave empty handed at times, visiting the store is fun in itself. There are beautiful, handcrafted
pieces that you dont see, even at saks. I saw this gorgeous crystal and silk dress originally something crazy like 11,000 for 2,000. Still too expensive for my pocketbook, but really, where else in the quarter can you look at a piece of clothing and say, "Wow, now that is ART!"
And being a man, it is extremely hard to find well tailored, designer clothing at a decent price. I found Jil Sander pants for $150 and Botega Veneta blazer for $600 (which is cheap considering it originally retails for almost 4 thousand).
Besides from looking at gorgeous one of a kind pieces, I got a Velvet brand polo for like $15 and some awesome vintage levis for $50. OH and about 5 LNA t-shirts for $10.
If you are a local, or especially if you are visiting, stop by. It's a gem of the quarter.
The sales people are cool, too. They totally love to talk and answer your questions. They always make me feel welcome and are comfortable enough to joke around with.…
Sexy steals!.
Looking at the bad reviews makes me sad, and leads me to believe the girls at UAL have been placing their pearls before swine.
It is the type of place you have to "get," that's for sure. If you don't get it, don't shop there! If you like to get Dillard's prices on Saks Fifth Avenue items, brave the Quarter!
I am a regular customer, and have been since the Vet's location. Gone are the dirty-looking careless employees of yore. The people there now are sweet, fashionable and very helpful--they honestly care for their customers.
It's important for everyone to realize that this business is not like Nordstrom's-they won't give you cash back for something you purchased a year ago, nor will you find that every item is perfect off the rack. You must be an informed consumer, and be prepared to improvise if you want good deals--trade-offs are necessary! Armed with knowledge, your trip will be more successful.
If you like Marc Jacobs for under $200, YSL shoes (classics that never go on sale, I might add), Dries Van Noten cheap AND super-sale Yigal Azroel, then brush up on that tight return policy and get yourself there fast! They get new stuff every day, and can call you when they get special items in. If you are a good customer and not a crazy person, they will go the extra mile for you!…
Not worth the energy..
I love gorgeous clothes.
I visit nola almost every year, and UAL has been a consistent stop planned into every trip.
Dear GOD in heaven, it's time to change my ways.
The staff used to be so helpful, it surprised me when I went. I had a gift certificate from the last time I had been there. When I tried to redeem it, I was told at first that it wasn't valid by a salesperson. I immediately asked to speak to a manager as there was absolutely NOTHING indicating that my credit was expired.
I happened to work with the manager last time I was in town, and she was helpful and seemed friendly enough. However, she must have moved on - whoever they have here now clearly doesn't care about her job. This teenager looking thing with a bird stuck in her head lackadasically took her time coming to the counter and tried to pursuade me that my credit wasn't valid. She wouldn't even look me in the eye. After causing an absolute scene, I finally got them to take it.
On top of that, nobody asked to help me because they were too involved giggling to each other in the corners of the store to care, the clothes seem to have only gone downhill since I was last here (understandable due to state of the economy).
Also, they no longer validate parking. So it's almost not worth it to go. Unless you're having dinner in the french quarter anyway and you feel like harassing a bunch of kids on their cell phones to get them to ring you up.
There are lots of places now where you can get a prada for 70 percent off, both online and in person. So.
I was embarrassed as I had friends with me whom I had brought because of how incredible I told them this place was. Such a disappointment.
Oh, and the countertop was caked with grime. Trust me, I was standing there long enough to notice. Icing on the cake, I guess.…
Love it!. Absolutely love the deals. I spend hours in there every time I go, but the customer service is less than ideal. Sometimes they're absolutely amazing, but many times they're too absorbed in their personal lives and gossip to even notice the customers, which seriously affects the company's revenue. That's not my problem, though, as long as I continue to get great deals. I always bring a fashion savvy friend to act as my personal shopping assistant. Friends are more reliable than fickle salespeople.…
sorry, but horrible employees and customer service.
i used to shop UAL on Vets, but haven't been there since before the storm due to horrible experiences with customer service.
my last visit, i purchased approx. $500 worth of merchandise (i was also a regular customer, albeit never liked customer service). i asked the salesperson if i could return items because i didn't have time to try them on. she said "yes," not explaining that i couldn't get a refund however.
i returned $125 worth of merchandise, only to find i could only exchange. the whole time, salesperson was on the phone fighting with boyfriend! no less, giving me attitude, as if i was interrupting her. so i left merchandise on counter and started to look around store. came back, she was still on phone, giving me the roll your eyes, "one minute pullease."
i just walked out, deciding i would call manager later. upon doing so, the manager acted as if i was being unreasonable, said there was a gift certificate waiting for me and goodbye. i returned, picked up the certificate, but never wanted to go back to that store.
after a time, i decided i should at least get my $125 worth, so dug up certificate...it expired after 90 days! and the part where this was handwritten was covered by a post-it note from the employee! ridiculous!
i never visited this store again. today, just found the certificate! and decided to vent :-)…
