This gussied-up chain bustles with singles and families craving Chinese food favorites..
In Short
Towering twin stallions and carved wood screens add majesty and mystery to this stylish restaurant, where well-dressed patrons sip martinis at the bar and families with children feast around large tables or in spacious booths. The menu gives Chinese classics a contemporary tweak; dishes are artfully presented, with many sauces made tableside by servers. Signature plates include diced chicken wrapped in cool lettuce leaves, orange-peel beef with chili peppers, and wok-fried scallops with lemon sauce.
good portions. I love the tofu dishes here, they serve large portions for good prices, low end, good for a student budget, the wait isn't long either. The eggroll is delicious.
Changs Old Faithful !!!!. I started going to this restaurant about 8 years ago on my 25th birthday and since then it has been a tradition. I am now 32 and for me and my friends to go there to celebrate is a good way for us to get together on special occasions. We love the food and the easy going hip atmosphere. I can bring my 2 yr. old and I can have a Romantic night with my Fiance' we also go there to celebrate our anniversary I think I have tried absolutely everything on the Menu, My personal favorite is the (appetiser) SHRIMP DUMPLINGS (main) CHANGS SPICY SHRIMP, (dessert) THE RASPBERRY TART CHEESECAKE ! I have my 13th yr. anniversary in June and I will definitely be there to celebrate.... signing off PF Chang's OLD FAITHFUL !!!!
very disappointing. While the hot and sour soup was excellent, the rest of the meal was very bad. We tried sweet and sour chicken, chicken lomein, kung poa chicken, and cashew chicken. The food was very bland and very small portions for the price. The kung poa chicken had only peanuts, no sauce, or vegetables. If this is truely the second best chinese restaurant in New Orleans I would hate to try the others.
Best Fine Chinese in NOLA.
Chang's is a breed apart from the traditional Chinese restaraunts most are familiar with. I won't even compare it to the freadful assembly line buffets that have damaged the reputation of good Chinese dining but will say that Chang's is simply superior.
The atmosphere is refined and upscale making it suitable for a professional business lunch or dinner but casual enough for dinner with the children. The food is uniformly excellent and the service is always attentive and fairly unobtrusive.
It is a bit higher priced than the other Chinese restaraunts but it's well worth it.
