What People Are Saying About Outback Steakhouse

In Short – Boomerangs, Aussie flags, kangaroo portraits and faux aboriginal art honor the homeland's wilderness, but Outback delivers a polished version of rusticity with varnished blond-wood booths with matching wainscoting and casually uniformed waitstaff. Besides more than a half-dozen cuts of steak, diners can pick from large-portioned entrees like ribs, chops and shrimp or chicken "on the barbie." The Bloomin' Onion, a large onion dipped in batter and deep-fried, is an appetizer with a following.
Editor's Tips
- What to Drink:
- If you're not a fan of Foster's, try another Australian beer: Newcastle Brown Ale.

Why would ANYONE go here when you can go to Ruth Chris, Crescent City or Charlie's??
Bland, dull, boring is the best I can say. McDonald's or Lucky Dog is a better choice!
- Pros: bland, dull, safe
- Cons: bland, dull, over-priced

Excellent bread and french onion soup, but the steaks are chew man chew tough. They would make a very durable shoe leather.
- Pros: good sides
- Cons: terrible steaks

Are you kidding me? In a city with restaurants like New Orleans, to rank a second rate chain restaurant as one of the top 10 is embarassing and moronic. Mr. John's and The Steak Knife are two that come to mind that absolutely blow Outback out of the water and there are others. Outback is a step above Sizzler- barely. Please take this off the list immediately- it reflects horribly on New Orleans cuisine.
- Pros: None
- Cons: Poor quality, Awful ambience, Marginal service

You're kidding me - you want steak go to Chicago, Omaha, Kansas City, anywhere but New Orleans. The only thing more irritating than their food is their commercials.
- Pros: there're few of them, they're well hidden, chain-food
You gotta be kidding me!

this is on par with Denny's as far as I'm concerned. This is absolutely the worst of the rated restraunts on the New Orleans list to choose from. Should not have made the list!
- Pros: None, none, none
- Cons: Food, service, atmosphere
