Roast Beefs Are Good But . . .. The roast beef poboys are good. The roast beef meat is cooked down to an almost hash consistency and not of the sliced manner traditional poboys are served in New Orleans. Everything else they serve, however, is of low quality. Not bad, just low quality that can be better had at other places. Still, I recommend them for their roast beef poboys.

Best Po-Boy in Metairie. Best Hot Sausage Patti and Roast Beef in the city.

Service excellent. When family comes in town, only stop is Short Stop for a Po-Boy. Try them once and you'll be back. Haven't found a better hot sausage

po-boy anywhere.......

Best roast beef po-boy. Every restaurant within a 50-mile radius of New Orleans claims to have the greatest roast beef sandwich, but Short Stop really does, especially with extra mayo. It's a multi-napkin affair as gravy runs down your arm, but that's how you know it's good. The fried seafood po-boys and other meat sandwiches are also popular at this humble little spot off Airline Highway, but the roast beef is the ultimate. Pair it with a bag of Zapp's and an ice cold Barq's for the quintessential New Orleans lunch.
