Best Wings...No Really! OK, so far.
In my many years of wing tasting in Syracuse, I loved many, hated some, and others were tolerable. For the hottest, which seems to be what many seek, I consumed them in the early 80s. These were actually flaming hot. That was then. With hot wings flavor seems to be less appealing than heat intensity. There comes a time when the heat is kid stuff and flavor is where it's at! Regular, mild, medium, sweet and sour, etc., and char-grilled. Whaaat? Word of mouth is the best advertisement. Believe it! Somehow talking about food for lunch, somebody mentioned wings. Many establishments were mentioned, but then someone mentioned a location never heard of before. O-I-P. Oip?! It stands for Original Italian Pizza. We had wings on our mind. Char-grilled? Best so far! I plan to try other items on their menu. The char-grilled wings are out of this world with that great grilled flavor. The prices are reasonable and the wings are good sized. A dozen would fill a couple of not sooo hungry people. I walked in and ordered and the service was reasonably quick. I plan to stop here alot and try many items. Great news, they deliver. Great news, they have two locations in Syracuse. I went to the 1601 W Genesee St. location. Are there better wings elsewhere? Stay tuned because a friend has challenged OIP's wings for a couple of reasons. In the meantime, Original Italian Pizza is worth the call or the trip! They have a website that is at www.oipizza the end of that registers as inappropriate word but think com.
