Really like the new weekend spin instructor Sarah. Great music and mix of strength, endurance, and intensity. One of my favorites

Would love to have more self defense classes with Lou please. This morning's class was amazing, learned a lot. Turns out there is way too much misinformation out there on how to protect yourself. Take a class and learn how to protect yourself the right way.

My wife and I came in to visit your gym today. I have to say, after touring several locations, you guys are totally awesome! The front desk and childcare attendant were great and full of personality. We definitely felt at home when we first walked in the door. I will see you guys in the morning to join!

My name is Joe and my story doesn't begin any different than anyone else's that I've heard, but, it does end rather uniquely. I wanted to change my life drastically back in August so I set out to quit smoking after 18 years and by October, I succeeded. That wasn't enough. Coincidently, it was time for our annual "The Biggest Loser" contest at work. $50 buy in, 10 contestants, winner takes all, why not. I entered with the intention of losing a few pounds and figured the $50 that I paid in would be enough incentive to get me moving. I did not anticipate weighing in at 212.5 lbs., the heaviest I have ever been. I knew that I had to get serious so only one name popped in my head for help, John Leavell. I have known John for about 14 years and I know how hard he worked and how much dedication he had to get where he is today. He has laid a well paved road that he worked very hard to make and now he is sharing it, essentially giving an easy way to success so that we don't have to spend years figuring it out the hard way as he did. We spoke on the phone, being that I live in Houston, for about an hour. His first questions were "How long do we have and how much do you want to loose?" I told him that the contest was for 9 weeks and threw out what I thought was an unrealistic goal of 40 lbs. He gave me diet recommendations and my workout plans. I pondered on this whole "diet" idea for a couple of days then decided to try it out. I followed his instructions to the letter hoping for some kind of results. At the end of week one I lost a staggering 10 lbs.! At that point I was committed. Luckily, John made me take progress pictures because 4 weeks in I started to become very disappointed because I didn't see any change in the mirror although my weight was steadily dropping. It wasn't until I looked at my progress pictures, as I was sending them to John, that I noticed the big difference, I was amazed and had a renewed drive. At the end of the contest I couldn't believe it, not only did I win the contest, but, I weighed in at 173 lbs. losing a total of 39.5 lbs. in 9 weeks! I now enjoy running, which is something I thought I would never say because not even the 5 years I spent in the Marine Corps accomplished that. John put me on a run program that gave me a sense of accomplishment every time I ran. I can't say thank you to him enough and now I can't wait to begin my next phase of bulking up.

This is a great place to work out. It's very convenient and I have been going there for years. They have great spinning classes and they keep me fit. I have seen people in my classes who have lost a ton of weight, like one guy who lost 70 pounds which he mostly attributes to the spinning classes. After Hurricane Katrina, they worked with me, and all of the members, in reducing or canceling contracts... which I have heard, lots of other health clubs did not do. I don't recall the specifics, I just remember feeling like it was a fair compromise, which is why I eventually came back after a year or so hiatus.

I've belonged to several gyms in the past & Premier is by far the best! Everyone that works there is so nice - always saying "hi" & offering their help. They make it a point to get to know everyone. It's like a big family! It's by far the cleanest facility I've every been a member of. They have a ton of classes to offer - I take Spinning & Body Pump & the instructors are always very helpful, making sure I'm doing the exercises correctly. The Spin instructor even passed out frozen towels at the end of the class! Most importantly, they really seem to "want" their members to participate - to come to the gym on a regular basis - not just sign you up & then care less if you come or not as long as they are getting your money. I'm not sure what the other reviewer is talking about as I've never had any issues with my membership or account. I've been 110% happy with my choice in gym!!!!

Great Trainers - the rest????. The Pros:

They have the best trainers I have ever seen or used! (Vince, John, and Mary are the BEST!!) The staff is all very nice and it is a small "friendly" club. The cleaning staff is constantly working to keep things clean and sanitized for everyone which is nice.

It is the only place I know that has frozen towels to use after a workout.

The Cons:

I have been a member there for years. Unfortunately, the same machines seem to be there as well. There are only 2 stair climbers, 2 arc trainers and 2 of one other elliptical that everyone seems to fight to use. They do occassionally get new machines but never the ones that everyone fights for.

When machines break, they can be "out of order" for over a month.

The air conditioner seems to be set too high in hot months as you start sweating before you even get started. As a person with asthma, the added heat makes it impossible to work out. If I wanted to work out in the heat I would not have joined a club.

They don't have many morning 8:00 classes for working people with children. they do offer 6:00 classes and 9:00 classes but for the rest of us---there isn't much. Instead of catering to the members, they only cater to their staff. Even the owner shows up late for a 9:00 class he teaches.

Daycare for only small children. kids over 5--- bored to tears! why not put in a ping pong table or big kid games?

Overall: Clean club with friendly members and staff, exceptionally knowlegable trainers-- a few great machines and well..... I haven't changed yet! Guess it could be worse.

DON'T JOIN - POORLY MANAGED CLUB. Our family had membership back when Premier was located in the Galleria. After moving back to NOLA we decided to rejoin. This was a huge mistake.

The majority of their machines (elliptical, treadmills, etc) are broke or in VERY poor condition. The fact is they're old and need to be replaced. For the machines that may happen to work, there is supposed to be a 30 min time limit which isn't followed by the members nor is it enforced by the employees. Even after complaining, they refuse to do anything to correct the problem; doing something would cut into their gossip sessions.

Our kids were added to the plan and we were being billed for them to attend, although no one ever put them into the system thus they were refused entry. We complained and they attempted to visit a second time only to be refused again. When we complained again we were told they would be added at a later date because the ONLY person that could correct the error was on vacation. My husband had a heated conversation with the owner and he said, "if you don't like it, quit"......... only after you finish paying us for the balance of your annual membership. That would be the membership the kids were refused to use.

Save your money and frustration. Join another gym. Being we've lived in several states, we've been members of several athletic clubs. I've never quit a club until now, then again, I've never held membership to a place so poorly maintained and managed.
