Authentic Mexican - and then some
by Foodietoo
My wife and I went to "Nach Mamas" on a whim along the stretch of Magazine St. that is packed with restaurants.
I had a traditional Enchilada dish, while my wife had a steak and bleu cheese wrap that was out of this world.
The service was terriffic, and we left stuffed.
If we were to do it again, I think we would split the wrap, because even the lunch came in huge portions.
I don't usually encourage "splitting" meals, but the size of the meals were tremendous.
I have lived in Dallas, TX, where Mexican food is expected to be the real deal. Nacho Mamas was the real deal, and I haven't had a true Mexican meal since leaving there.
I think it's worth a shot. The prices are reasonable and the food is, like I said, out of this world.
The presentation, the taste, the service all make it worth the trip.
- Pros: Great Authentic Mexican Food; Imaginative Menu
- Cons: None
Best margaritas
by caliprncss6
The margaritas come in group size in pitchers for a good price. Some of the menu can be pricey, but it's a good value for things like seafood enchiladas. The food is great, and the margaritas are amazing. The service is really good as well, good location, fun ambiance, good place for groups, and nice outdoor seating.
- Pros: ambiance, good for groups, service, location, good food and drinks
- Cons: not good for kids
The Best Mexican in New Orleans.
by shanefink
By far the best Mexican in New Orleans. Of course, I own the joint. It's fun, festive, the margaritas rock and the food is usually great (not always consistent, I admit). And, we don't even have a heat lamp. Try the mixed grill fajitas if you want to really be impressed.
- Pros: Everything is made fresh.
- Cons: None
