Editorial Review for The Delachaise – by Pableaux Johnson
In Short
This trendy nightspot can be an inviting (if often deafening) after-hours or post-dinner hangout. The narrow room and long bar gets packed by the usual Uptown suspects (students, yuppies, "Sex and the City" followers) who aren't straying too far from home. A rotating menu marries the Spanish tapas with an impressive selection of wines by the glass and distinctive liquor options. Options range from exceptional cheese and pâté noshes to an addictive baked chevre doused in spicy marinara.

Insider Tips
Save MoneyCheck the chalkboard for a dependable list of lesser-known (and bargain-priced) wines.
Know Before You GoClosing time is based on late-night traffic, so night prowlers should call ahead after midnight to check if the restaurant is still open.
Where to SitOnce crowds arrive, high noise levels make conversation all but impossible. If you're in the mood to talk, grab a sidewalk table.

Hands down best place to have a glass of wine or cocktail & get the best food served at a bar! Great music, something for everyone. If you want an unusual selection of wines & or alcohol this is the place to go. Can you say cheese! 30+ cheese options. The best fries fried in duck fat no less! They serve food late & night & most of the dishes are small plates you can share --- perfect bar fare but not bar like food (think poached oysters over grilled bread, crawfish boil salad, filet of beef bites over crustinis). Go early for relaxed wine & pre dinner snack, go after 9pm for a hopping place to drink & socialize, go late night at 11 or 12 for a late night snack or dinner. I think they serve until 1am.
