The Delachaise. Always travel there on business and stay next door at Hampton Inn. As a single girl, I feel safe there. Great owner pays attention to me dining/drinking wine alone. He has great suggestions and the place is quaint. Supposedly the building has been everything from a dress shop to a house of ill-repute. Love it!

Best Place for a first date. Long story short, I met a very pretty girl at The Border's clearance sale and took her to the Delachaise for lunch a few sundays ago. The food was excellent and the Chef knew so much about cheese! The bartenders were a little to rude to me about when the sun started setting but that somehow broke the ice.

Something about this part of Uptown is becoming very special...

Given another 100 years, 6 of the most unique restaurants in America will be within a 5 mile radius. New Orleans is not just about the Vieux Carre anymore. It never really has been if you ask most locals (that's what I did before starting this blogtag)

Great prices, great food, love the new Patio!. Been going there for 4-5 years. The food has always much better than bar food but it has gotten much better in the last year & we think it now has some of the best food in the city. The addition of a patio has meant that we go pretty once or twice a week. It's become our go to neighborhood joint & we take everyone there that's in town visiting. Highly recommend.

Love, Love, Love!. Favorite place to go... friends are probably tired of me wanting to go there & only there. Great patio right on St. Charles Ave. We like to grab a bottle of wine at the bar & take it outside. Food is really good, especially the Pate, Beef Bruchetta, frog legs are the best i've ever had, the cuban pork dish is one of my favorite things to eat in the city. Have to order at the bar, chef brings your food. Downside it can get busy later friday nights so go early unless you're looking for a crowd.

Hands down best place to have a glass of wine or cocktail & get the best food served at a bar!. Hands down best place to have a glass of wine or cocktail & get the best food served at a bar!

Great music, something for everyone. If you want an unusual selection of wines & or alcohol this is the place to go.

Can you say cheese! 30+ cheese options. The best fries fried in duck fat no less! They serve food late & night & most of the dishes are small plates you can share --- perfect bar fare but not bar like food (think poached oysters over grilled bread, crawfish boil salad, filet of beef bites over crustinis).

Go early for relaxed wine & pre dinner snack, go after 9pm for a hopping place to drink & socialize, go late night at 11 or 12 for a late night snack or dinner. I think they serve until 1am.

wine, cheese, and personal attention. great place for happy hour before the late night crowds. delicious cheese and duck fat fries, and the chef and servers are always happy to talk about selections. excellent wine list as well.

Go early or come late. I'd have to say, the Chef really goes out of his way! The food is always interesting and always good! I love this little nook, but after certain hours (i.e., 8ish-til) the bar service does suffer a bit. The best bartenders are Terry and Amy so call ahead and see when they are there. Evan doesn't seem to bartend much anymore, but he's awesome too. The wine, food, atmosphere, and selections of beer and spirits is unquestionably worth checking out for yourself.

Favorite Bar, Excellent Excellent Food!. I've been going to the Delachaise for 3 years & I have to say it gets better & better!

Chef Chris, who got voted best chef by New Orleans Magazine, is a master chef with an eclectic menu that changes daily. They also serve food until quite late, without the Delachaise I would have gone hungry on numerous occassions. There's comments on here about the lack of floor service but you have to keep in mind this is a bar that happens to serve amazing food (I don't know of another bar like it) & the chef is back in the kitchen making each dish individually & he brings out each order right to your table! If he's not busy he'll talk food & travels with you table side.

AND thank you to the Delachaise for making changes to the bartending staff. At one point there were a couple female bartenders that were often rude (I avoided the nights they worked) but NO MORE, they now have the BEST bartenders in the city! The new bartenders are helpful, knowledgeable & Nice, one being perky Amy.

The wine selection is by far the best in the city & there's a wide range of unique spirits & some great unusual beers. I'm almost afraid to post on here because I don't want it to become anymore popular than it is.

Sunday - Wednesday are best for a more quiet dinner & conversation come late Thursday night through the weekend the place comes alive. OH, & I can't forget the music. The owner, Evan, must spend hours perfecting his playlist on his Ipod which belts out the best music selection!

Thanks Delachaise for creating my own personal Cheers!

Great Wine, Hot Bartenders, Good Food. I have been going to the delachaise for over a year and a half now and love it. It's the place with the most variety of wines by the glass and interesting liquors. I was in the other night with a group of girlfriends and we had the best time as always. The bartenders Egan and Neil are not only very helpful but so cute as well. The food is great and they always recommend the best things to us. Since moving to New Orleans the delachaise has become my favorite spot to start out any night or just drop in for a glass of wine. I took my family and everyone visiting me this mardi gras to the delechaise and they all loved it as much as I do. -KT

what are you talking about?. I don't know about you, but I had a great time the other night at the Delachaise. The tall brunette girl and the French guy were a great duo and gave great service. As long as you understand that this is an upscale bar for people who apprecriate the finer things in life, you will be able to have an awesome experience. If you enjoy sophistication in a warm, comfortable envoronment, I highly recomment that you try the Delachaise; the food was exquisite and the drinks were superior! Atleast the bartender didn't pass out on the bar like some other female bartender did on some friends of mine a few weeks ago... I had a great night!!!
