good food. horrible servers. won't go back anymore after 3 tries and 3 different servers. they were all way to awesome to do any actual table waiting.
Best Burrito in the City. Everything I have eaten here has been delicious: the beans and rice dip appetizer, the shrimp tacos, cheese enchiladas. But my absolute favorite is the Jerk-Chicken burrito. I used to go there every week for lunch when I worked downtown. I go out of my way to eat there now. Just love it. Don't roll up at seven at night on a Friday though, the place will be packed!
Good Food!. Went for the first time after a friend recommended it for happy hour. Although drink prices were not too hot (for happy hour I mean), the food was pretty good considering that they don't call themselves Mexican food and instead a Creole-Mexican blend. I recommend this place for the food and not the drinks.
FANTASTIC!. Juan's is great. Way too tiny, but great. The food is excellent and the price is good. Delicious Mexican food with a New Orleans flair. I definitely recommend.
Don't go !.
We recently ate at this recommended bar/restaurant.
Firstly, the overly tatooed short fat waitress was rude and practically threw the food at us. She scowled and was not educated with a vocabulary which includes, "please", "thank you" and "you're welcome". When we were ... served... , it was very average at best.
Even after leaving a substantial tip, we were totally ignored, as if we were lucky to be there.
The rude behavior of this waitress, and the average food is NOT recommended. There are far too many nice people and too much good food in New Orleans to be mistreated like this.
Don't waste your time !
Go to a friendly restaurant.
The hippest taco in town. Juan's is the hipster place to eat and be seen. Rockin' music (that's kept to a conversational volume most of the time), tattooed waitstaff, local art all over the walls--you name it. The place has really tasty food for pretty decent prices. Their burritos are generous and filling, enough for a meal and a snack later if you're not too hungry. However, some of their entrees, such as the fish tacos, are really not enough to fill even a light eater up--be sure to order a decent appetizer if you get most of the taco orders. The service is passable, though if you don't have a friend who works there, prepare to get occasional hard-core punk attitude for no reason (we went there one day and a waitress sprayed cleaning fluid over our table--and our food--while we were eating, and we weren't being difficult customers or anything). As a whole, a decent place to stop by if you're hungry and in the hood.
Not for everyone.
The food at Juan's is good, and not overpriced. That being said, I won't eat there again although it is conveniently close to home. Mostly I'd order go food because I couldn't stand the unbearably loud & obnoxious music. The last three times I went to dine in with friends I asked to have the music turned down. Today the server refused to turn it down. He told me it was already turned down once. The server the original waiter sent to take our order told me it couldn't be turned down. I told him it was so loud we couldn't stay, the waiter said ok. Ok!
Apparently the staff at Juan's are more concerned with their own entertainment than they are with satisfying paying customers. So I won't be spending anymore money there.
The previous reviewer is, evidently, their demographic. If F&%$k Off on a bartender's butt, a wall hmuping waiter and deafeningly loud bad music are what you're looking for this would be the spot.
A fun twist on a familiar favorite. I ate at here with a group of 10 high school students and two other adults from Oregon on a recent rebuilding trip to New Orleans. Though we arrived without a reservation, we were seated promptly - and all together - and served reasonably quickly. The students loved the food and enjoyed the playful banter with our waitress. A fun, affordable way to feed a group of growing teens.
YUCK. good service,.. 1st drink is strong,.. 2nd drink has little to no alcohol,.. and food is gross, not recommended
best food, best bartender, great atmosphere, singing cooks who also hmup the walls. Best place ever!!! I moved to NY after Katrina but always make sure to eat at Juans, when I come home. I miss the house special quesadillias and the hot bartender who wears pants that say "F@#K OFF" on her butt. Only at Juans...
