Wonderful down south cuisine..
Ordered every type of oyster on the menu (6 in all) and they were great. Also had a sampling of the different appetizers along with the glazed salmon. The food was wonderful in every way. Everything I expected of a good New Orleans restaurant.
The atmosphere was also exquisite along with good service. Only complaint I had was that parking was a little tricky on Friday night since a popular nigh club was located nearby.
Cassoulet vs risotto. I ordered the chicken which was to be atop white bean cassoulet. When I got it, it was risotto, like they thought I wouldn't notice. When I mentioned it to the waiter, he said that they must have run out of cassoulet. Duh. Why didn't someone tell me, I would have ordered something else. No sorry, no comp glass of wine or dessert, no manager. I work for the Ritz Carlton and this is completely unacceptable for a hotel of this caliber. The bartender behind the bar was foul-mouthed and the atmosphere was way too casual for my taste. I hope that they staff better as the city returns.
True to its name, this Warehouse District standout blends solid accommodations with tasteful modern art..
In Short
This 217-room addition to the hip Warehouse District brings a playfully modern sense of style to its airy atrium layout. Close to the Convention Center and the French Quarter, it features a full business center, an outdoor pool and fitness facilities. Each room features local artwork and high-speed Internet. Art dealer Arthur Roger contributes an in-house gallery as well as tasteful pieces--Dale Chihuly chandeliers, kinetic water sculptures--arranged throughout the property.
Warehouse Winner. Located in the trendy Renaissance Arts Hotel in the Warehouse district, La Cote Brasserie is equally trendy. Though I can't say that I completely agree with the 2003 award for Best Seafood, my meal was quite tasty. The service was excellent and the lunchtime ambiance was very relaxing. I'd be interested to return for drinks in the evening; it's likely a hotspot in the neighborhood.
