They taught me everything I know..
I've been taking guitar lessons at Progressive Guitar Studio for about three years now and I love it. I've had lessons with both Gary and Aden and they are both outstanding teachers. They are both very patient (they have to be to teach me) and seem to really enjoy it. When I started I knew next to nothing but now I really feel much more accomplished. I highly recommend Progressive Guitar Studio.

Weird - nobody home.
I drove past when I was going down Canal. Hey, new guitar place, right? So, I go there. First of all, it's clustered off to the side of a hair salon. The hair salon lady indicates I can go in.
I go in. The walls appear to be spray painted gray. It smells like hair salon. I look around. Amp on, a big fat check sitting on a table for guitar lessons. I say "Hello?"
Nobody there. I called, "Hello, anybody home?" twice. I even noodled on one of the guitars, thinking someone would show up. Nope. After about ten minutes, I left.
There were some nice guitars there. If I was a b@st@rd, I could have walked right out the front door with a couple, and I don't think anybody in the hair salon would have noticed or cared.
Will I be back? No. Either be open or be closed, but unless you want your stuff ripped off, don't leave the door open and leave the building. If you're that careless with your guitars, amps, and money, it's not a good sign. And this was during regular business hours.

Progressive Guitar Studio ROCKS!!!.
I have been taking guitar lessons with Gary King for 9 years, yes that's right 9 years.(one student named Johnathan has been coming for 12 years) Gary is the most patient teacher on earth, and one of the nicest most caring person I have ever met. Why would I take lessons for 9 years if the school wasn't great? Excuse me but I have some open tuning finger style song arranging to do.

Disregard the first review I know Justin Paul.
I have been knowing Justin for a long time and he just seems to be an unhappy person. I am still taking lessons at Progressive Guitar Studio and Gary Is a GREAT teacher. He always went overtime with me, sometimes a half an hour. We just had a recital at The Harrison Ave Market and there were tons of people there and the whole event ROCKED!!!! Everyone was good! from 7 year old kids jamming to funk music to a high school chick ripping on the solo to Enter Sandman by Metallica! I talked to her after she played and she told me she had only been taking lessons for 3 months! Hey Justin!!! Its called PRACTICE! Dude

I don't recommend Gary for guitar lessons..
I was a student of Mr Gary and he wasted time by talking negitive about the Government. It would eat 20 minutes of my lesson every week. I learned a few chords but I found I could have done that on utube. He didn't have structured lessons. One week he would show you one thing and then he would be totally somewhere else and never go over the previous lesson to be sure you had it.
I ended up getting someone else to teach me and I was learning so much faster and the lessons were cheaper too. I can play 25 songs real good now. I would not recomend t Gary or this studio. He was just trying to drag out the lessons so he could make more money.

Great place to jam (and learn)!.
I didn't know how to play at all when I signed up for lessons. Gary was a great in instructor; very patient! I've been with him for over a year now and I have no complaints.
