JW Marriott New Orleans French Quarter- Good location, Great Bed.
Price: $159/nights
Location: The hotel is located at walking distance to the French quarter, the River Walk and Casino.
Front Desk: During checking the host was quick and friendly.
Staff: The staff was great always greeting you and asking if they could help you.
Valet: The Valet parking cost $27 per day and you don't need to tip them just call 3-5 minutes before you need your car.
Hotel amenities: The hotel looks very luxurious.
Rooms: The room I got was small but nice. The bed was the highlight of the room. Most comfortable ever, they even have a catalog for you of pillow, sheet and duvet used for the bed.
Downside: The $11.95 charge per day for internet access using my own laptop in the room.
The name has changed (more than once), but the location is still ideal..
The Scene
From Le Meridien to a short-lived stint as the New Orleans Grande Hotel, this lodging now displays the JW Marriott name. The location is still great, right on Canal Street. Although the property is undergoing updates to the concierge floor, it otherwise remains as sleek and modern as before. It continues to attract an international clientele with its decidedly French accent, glittery indoor waterfall and polished marble and brass everywhere.
The Details
The 494 guest rooms (including 23 for the disabled) are notable for their lavish spaces, pastel color schemes and wide, floor-to-ceiling windows. The hotel has seven suites, some of which are split-level with two-story windows. Standard amenities include 27-inch TVs with Internet access and games, computer-modem access and basics such as irons and ironing boards. A complimentary health club and sauna are available, as is a full-service business center. A bit of French flavor from the hotel's former days can be found at the restaurant, Midi South of France, which features haute cuisine. Guests can relax to the sounds of live jazz nightly except Sundays at the Lobby Bar.
excellent canal st choice. having once lived in NOLA, I usually opt for garden district hotels when I visit, but I was pleasantly surprised with Le Meridien. Loved the turn down service and the bed was so comfy. But the toiletries were not as upscale as I expected for the price. I also liked the option of entrances on Canal and the side street!
