Great BBQ. Highly recommend. Deltagirl might be retarded. This is great food. Clearly a disgruntled employee or competitor. VooDoo has some of the best BBQ around. I live nearby and make VooDoo a part of my weekly routine.

BAD SERVICE AND ROACHES. WOW! HEARD ALOT ABOUT THIS PLACE SO I WENT! HORRIBLE FROM THE MINUTE WE WALKED IN. WE WERE THE ONLY CUSTOMERS AND IT TOOK 25 MINS TO GET A PO BOY AND SALAD. SALAD AT 10 BUCKS WAS SO OVER PRICED. THEN A ROACH CRAWLED ACROSS OUR TABLE. THE RUDE BLACK CHICK BEHIND THE COUNTER CAME OUT AND SMASHED IT ON THE TABLE AND JUST USED A PAPER TOWEL TO CLEAN IT. NO CLEANING SUPPLIES. LAUGHED AND WALKED AWAY. WE LEFT. RUDE SERVICE, NOT GREAT FOOD AND ROACHES.

excellent!. my boyfriend and I passed this place several times on the streetcar and finally stopped in.

a fast food setting (order at the counter from a menu overhead), is anything but that. yes, the food does come out fast, but it is flavorful and the staff are very friendly! our waitress told us all about the 3 different BBQ sauces and which she recommended for what meat.

we ordered 2 graveyard platters with pulled pork and jerk-chicken. mac and cheese, potato salad, greens and fried okra.

the pork and sauce were to die for. the chicken a bit dry, but with the BBQ sauces its mighty tasty. all the sides were great but the greens really stood out. definitely not for the vegetarian... we couldn't tell what the pork content was, but probably over 30%!

Best BBQ in Louisiana. Really good old fashioned BBq! The ribs are done in a dry rub, they have great sweet tea... we went with a big group and everyone loved what they ordered. Good value, fast service and food. Good location, parking isn't hard to find on this side of St Charles either. Don't go if you're vegetarian, they have nothing that isn't meat. But the ambiance is fun and casual, and all the cops eat there so you know it's good.

A Gem. We love Voodoo BBQ. We have never patroned the bar (yet), but when we went to NOLA in '05 (before Katrina) we really enjoyed the food. The gentleman ~ whom I assumed was the manager ~ was very cordial, and the young ladies working the counter were charming and friendly and funny. We returned a year ago, and I was jazzed to see the same guy, and the same girls, more grown up and still charming. Now I'm sure their bbq isn't the best you'll find in NOLA, but it's good enough, and the side dishes are very good, and prices affordable. The atmosphere is casual and it's easily accessible by streetcar. (Close to the Garden Dist.) If you spend time in the Garden District and get hungry, skip the outrageously expensive Commander's Palace and make Voodoo BBQ your destination.

BBQ with Soul!!!!!. I was on an Amtrak layover in March, and asked the ticket manager in NO to recommend a good place to eat. His suggestion was this wonderfully wild eatery. The staff was absolutely looney, and the friendliest people I have ever met. The female bartender was the quickest wited mouth I have been around. The drinks were great and the food delicious. A BBQ Brisket sandwich was just what I needed! The various sauces were special. The manager after hearing my travel plight, fixed 2 sandwiches at no cost for my later evening enjoyment. This is Southern hospitality at it's very best! I will be travelling that way again in a few months, and will once again have a layover. You can bet I'll be conjuring up some spells at Voodoo!

Editorial Review. In addition to serving ribs, pork and sausage, this neighborhood restaurant offers burgers, a MoJo chicken sandwich, onion rings and white chocolate cheesecake.

Hoodoo Voodoo. Voodoo BBQ has a great neighborhood feel. On Sunday afternnons, it's a great place to take the family. But on Friday Nights, it's not a bad place to make a casual date, either. They even have a cute little bar in the back.

I've had better BBQ, but the food seems to be made with reasonable care, and they give you ample portions--as most New Orleanians expect.

There is no off-street parking, and the corner Of MLK and St. Charles is not the best place to have to walk 2 blocks to your car after a couple of drinks and a full plate of BBQ. For a lot of people, I am sure that trumps all else that would be good about the place.

Still, if you are only brave enough to come for lunch, you should check it out.
