Tips for Sake Cafe

used to be a good place. at one time this was the top-end of sushi in the New Orleans area. but high prices, attitude from the staff, and obnoxious uptown yuppie clientele took this off the list long ago. Then my colleague, and her friend, both got food poisoning from their yellow fish last night. Folks, it ain't worth it. Avoid this overpriced dump - try Mikimoto instead.

NEVER order delivery from here. I place a delivery order and one hour and 15 minutes later call to find out where it is. They outright lied and said it had left for delivery. 25 more minutes pass and the food is still sitting at Sake because they never printed the address and therefore NEVER DELIVERED. They made no effort to get the food to us quickly and have LOUSY customer service.

This for the price you pay?...They seriously need competition and SOON!

Better than anything I've had in New York. Whenever I visit New Orleans, I make sure I got to Sake on Magazine at least once. Snowcrab Naruto is out of this world! You can't get anything quite this tasty and fresh in Manhattan, I don't care what anybody says.

Not for Families. This restaurant was the worst dining experience I've ever had. My in-laws and my family had ordered our dinner and my son was making airplane sounds with his toy. The manager on duty asked us to quiet him and we laughed because he wasn't being very noisy and was sitting still which to us was great. My father-in-law suggested that we leave jokingly and he said that would be fine. We left and couldn't believe we were treated so rudely. Never again! We'd dined there several times before and the food was never outstanding but it was close to our house and we love supporting our local restaurants. I guess that's one less I will be supporting.

Mediocre food, poor service, high prices. Long gone are the days when Sake Cafe was the best place in town for sushi. Bland, unexciting, hardly-fresh morsels will eventually get to your table. You can find better sushi at Win Dixie (scary).

Editorial Review by Citysearch Editors. Since 2001, Japanese restaurant serves sushi and sashimi as well as cooked items like teriyaki, tempura, soups and salads.
