We went here on our first night in New Orleans, and as we left our only worry was that we'd ruined ourselves for the rest of the vacation by setting the bar so high. The food was incredible! I had the pan seared scallops and jumbo gulf shrimp (the sauce was amazing), which was superb, but my husband had the sake and miso glazed seabass over udon noodles which is still taking first place as the best meal he had in New Orleans. And I must say, it's always nice to go to a place where the food is amazing and the staff is equally impressive....and this is that place. Not one ounce of snobbery - everyone had the perfect mixture of knowledge, refinement and affability. After our meal we asked the waiter for suggestions on the best way home, and as the chef lived nearby he himself came out to chat with us give us recommendations. Wow. Stella!, Brigtsen's and Restaurant August are definitely my top three restaurants in the city.

Oh, Stella! how I miss thee! I first discovered Stella! by accident, after my group of 12 could not get reservation at our first 2 choices. We were so thankful our concierge sent us to Stella! We all agreed this is THE BEST restaurant we have ever eaten at in New Orleans (and less expensive than any of the over-hyped places!). The food is very creative and amazing, with flavors from all over the worldon a single plate! The service is impeccable, with very knowlegeable and helpful waitstaff. Everytime I go back to New Orleans, Stella! is my first stop after checking into the hotel.

A little out of the way but what a find!! We found this place on a suggestion of a friend and with a party of 3 showed up unnaounced and sat right down and had a fabulous meal. Th wine list is a bit pricey, but the food, the service adn the presentation were over the top. A must visit (cozy and comfortable) in NO.
