Do not recommend. We were in new orleans for my birthday and I chose the plaza thinking it would be an upscale property. The rooms were small but clean and the restaurant was great. However the pool and fitness center were closed because there was a swingers convention. They did not tell us when we booked and we had no access to the amenities. There were people walking around with whips half naked. I would not have expected this for an upscale chain like the Plaza. I specifically chose this hotel for the amenities and location.

Regarding the location, we stayed on july 8th and 9th. There were 2 shootings outside on bourbon street if which we had to run for cover. I would definitely not recommend tthis hotel unless your a swinger who likes to live on the edge!

The management of the hotel had the audacity to call me a liar saying that they highly doubted people were half naked. Trust me I was there and they were.In addition, yes they did provide us with access to another hotel which was a block or two away and a 2 star at best. The pool as gross and the fitness center was below par. If i wanted a 2 star experience i would have paid for it!

Customer Service. The rooms are nice but the customer service is not so good. When we went to check out and get a shuttle to the airport they told us to go wait outside for it to come. We waited for about 30 minutes before my husband went in to ask when it should arrive. At this point the person at the front desk said that we had to arrange it to come and get us. He asked them if they could come then and they said no we had to arrange it 24 hours in advance. Just curious why they would not tell customers this in advance?

HORRIFIED. I came down from Lafayette to spend time with fellow friends whom flew down from Cleveland to watch the Browns play the Saints. A room was reserved at this "Lavish" establishment. On arrive everything seemed up to pare. But what happened on our arrival back to the hotel late that same night was APPALLING to say the least. First let me start out by saying... I myself am a 32yr old Dental Hygienist. My friend whom walked in the facility with me is a 32yr old Highschool Principal. We walked past the front desk were we were approached by the "Hotel Manager" JAMES ALLEN. Than he proceeded to tell my male friend to get rid of me or he couldnt go up to the room. Confused we said WHAT.. Mr. Allen replies LOUDLY we dont allow people like her in this hotel. HUH!!!! I hear a woman behind me say, "She must be a street walker". Blown away I look Mr. Allen directly in the eye and said,"I AM NOT a hooker"!!! My male friend politely said, "Sir shes a dental hygienist

and I'm a high school principal". Mr. Allen proceeds to giggle in my face and roll his eyes. After giving us a pop quiz on how we knew each other, asking him what my full name was, GRILLING us under a spot light and bringing me almost to tears in front of a lobby full of waiting party's he finally said just go and smiles. I asked him for his name and the name of his boss. He replied with just GO.

HORRIFIED, UPSET, EMBARRASSED doesn't even do justice on how that made me feel inside. I will NEVER or EVER recommend this hotel in the FRENCH QUARTER to anyone one I love, care about, not even a perfect stranger. Still have yet to receive a phone call or apology from upper management.

NOT an "Upscale" Hotel - So Disappointing!. This hotel was beyond disappointing! The rooms look nothing like the pictures on the website. Those apparently, are what the rooms ?will? look like after their extensive renovation. However, we were never informed in any way that the hotel was under repair. The rooms were dark and dingy ? one with a dirty, torn bed spread and one with damaged furniture. The staff was almost uniformly unhelpful, from the valet who didn?t know where Jackson Square was (it?s 6 blocks away) to the concierge who was lazy and disrespectful to my husband when we tried to order flowers. The common area furniture was filthy as was the cloudy pool. I would give this hotel 1 star.

Great location and decent price. Clean rooms for a reasonable price. Remember: use priceline on this hotel, you will save a great amount of money and be a step away from all the trashy action on Bourbon. Service was good, except for check in by some brain dead front desk agent (took 20 minutes to find my reservation, no one else there). Another great tip (from a local, me): why pay $20 for parking? Park TWO blocks down the street on Rampart (or, in the alternative, Basin) for FREE. Have Fun!
