Worst Night's Sleep. We stayed at the Alexa for 3 nights, they rented half of our floor to a fraternity so from about 8pm to 5am we had yelling and pounding on doors--we even heard them brag about how they had knocked on every door on the floor 2 floors below us for fun--who would rent a block of rooms to a frat and let regular guests stay in the same area/floor? This hotel was so noisy and uncomfortable that it wasn't even worth the cheap pricetag since when we eventually got back to our room from bourbon st we couldn't even sleep!!!

Great Bargain. This hotel is connected to the Astor, but their rates are generally lower than the Astors. All of the Astor's amenities are available to use (pool, fitness, etc.). Our room was a nice size (although I have heard that they do come smaller). My suggestion is to request a double or a king bed. Our window looked out into a small "courtyard", but that was okay. The staff were all nice and friendly. It is located in the Quarter and is really close to Canal.
