One of the Very Best. One of the best restaurants in New Orleans, the ambiance is cozy and comfortable (a perfect place for a date) and the food is fantastic. They have a superb wine list, mostly Italian wines, and the service is wonderful--you feel like you've been invited to an old friend's home. This is the only restaurant I go to every time I travel to New Orleans and the only place I recommend to others.

Perfect. Visit New Orleans often and always head to Eleven79. It is perfect. Perfect atmosphere and ambiance, perfect wine selection, perfect menu, perfectly prepared dishes, perfect service, and, well, you get it, obviously top notch. Even the patrons are interesting. This is the ONLY restaurant that draws me back to New Orleans. No one should visit NOLA without experiencing the Eleven79.

dark, romantic, lotsa pasta. this is a strange place, inside its quite high end and charming, but its in the middle of nowhere, nestled next to warehouses under the bridge. only dined once, but the servers were attentive and detached, which i like. they specialize in veal but the veal i had didnt wow me and seemed overcooked. the pasta selections were plentiful, available in half-portions, and impressive. im italian and usuall find restaurant pasta bloated or lacking, but theirs was just right. the spicy red sauce w/ a touch of anise was fantastic. will go back.

Where the Sopranos would dine in the Warehouse District.. The Scene
Eleven79 is a throwback to old school Italian eateries. Exposed beam and brick surround a tiny dining room, where tables are close and conversation as loud as Grandma Leoni's Sunday dinner. A massive wine rack decorated with bowls of ripe tomatoes hides the hopping bar. Waitstaff is Johnny-on-the-spot with everything from cocktails to bread refills.

The Food

The succinct a la carte menu features tried and true Italian with a few new twists. Pick pasta dishes from a list of favorites like marinara, bolonese or Alfredo. Eat it alone or paired with one of many veal entrees, daily lamb dishes or inventive seafood specials. Robust sauces top everything. All go great with a good bottle of Italian red from the extensive wine list. Dessert--specifically spumoni--is mandatory.

Spectacular!!. I am such a food snob and I was blown away by this restaurant. I have tried almost every restaurant in New Orleans and this has to be one of the best in town. The atmosphere is dark and romantic. The best bread! Every entree I have tried has been excellent except one of the pastas was a bit salty.

Amazing!. I visit New Orleans fairly frequently, and I always make it a point to eat at Eleven79 every time. The food is out of this world- I highly reccommend the "Veal Eleven79", or they usually have a Salmon special topped with lump crab meat that is to die for if you are not into veal. Great service, romantic, and, without question, the best Italian I've had in New Orleans.

2nd best place in New Orleans. Amazing meal. Amazing people. Amazing service. The only place I like better is Twiropa and it happens to be down the street. A great location.

drfunn. Eleven 79 is truly a dining experience. The professional wait staff and excellent cuisine is worth a trip off the beaten path of French. For the full enjoyment ask the staff for the evening specials and the outstanding wine list.

Never again!!!. I have been eating in New Orleans and outlying areas for over twenty years. My visit to 1179 was one of THE WORST I have experienced. I will not return nor will the people (and their friends/coworkers ) I have spoken with. I was treated better at a Chili's two days later than I was at this restaurant.
