Loved this place.. My husband and i are vegetarian, and had a hard time finding decent food to eat on our trip to New Orleans. Even the fanciest restaurants had no creativity, just offering the boring "portobello and rice" (not all vegetarians like mushrooms, people, get creative!!!). Mona's was delicious! Definitely the best meal we ate on our entire trip. Just sorry we hadn't discovered it sooner, we would have gone everyday!
Editorial Review by Citysearch Editors. Middle Eastern restaurant serves barbecue shish kababs, Falafel plates and vegetarian dishes with baklava and burma for dessert.
good local place. Mona's is on the other side of the Quarter so it doesn't attract the touristy crowd. It's middle eastern and cheap. The food is incredibly good and the service was friendly. There's a middle eastern grocery store connected to it. It's in a different part of town that usually attracts a much younger and alternative crowd. It would also be a great place for take out.
