O.K., but needs improvement.
The location is excellent - on the river, across the street from Harrah's, on trolley route, and only a few blocks from the Quarter. Unfortunately, I
experienced a few problems: I arrived 5-11-04 at around midnight and when I opened my room's door, I knew immediately that it was a smoking
room, although my reservation requested non-smoking. I then noticed my room had 2 beds,
instead of the single I had also requested. The mini-bar was nearly empty, and when I notified the front desk, There was no offer to send someone up
to inventory or restock it. The bathtub had not been cleaned. The following day I changed rooms, and the phones didn't work. They were repaired later that day.
Nice hotel in good location. We were in New Orleans because I was taking some exams but decided to stay to see the city. The Wyndham was well-located to the French Quarter. We were able to walk everywhere we needed to go. The room was nice and everyone was friendly. I recommend joining the Wyndham By Request becuase it got us a welcome snack, a nicer room with a view of the Mississippi, and other personalized amenities. Plus, it is connected to a mall if you get the urge to shop or go to Starbucks. I didn't think that it was confusing to get in and out of, as some people have said. Overall, a nice place to stay if you want to be close to the stuff in the French Quarter but not in the thick of things.
Can you say Snobby?. My boyfriend and I decided to spend a night there to get away from everything... We picked that hotel from random out of all the big hotels there... From the time we checked in we were completely snubbed. The receptionist repeatedly asked us if we knew how much it was going to cost.. Then we got up to our room and it was nothin like we had imagined... call me picky but when I pay $130 per night I expect the room to be in functioning...The iron didn't work...The bathroom was old looking...very outdated... The room service was horrible...It took at least an hour for them to bring up some towels... to top it all off... our room keys quit working trying to use the elevator...very embarrassing.... That hotel sucked... We checked out early...
Absolutely Wonderful!!!. I have stayed @ several hotels in NOLA, and this hotel is certainly one of the best! The lobby is beautiful, the staff is very friendly, and not snooty at all, the rooms are spacious and clean, and the location is great!!!! The pool is very nice with a good view, and its nice to have the proximity to the Canal Place Mall!!!! Also, on the weekends and in the summer, the hotel offers affordable rates.
soothing luxury. spotless, friendly, clean and luxurious---we loved it. the sunday jazz brunch is not to be missed. Quiet plush rooms and spectacular rooms. Stay here and be on the Mississippi, 2 PLEASANT blocks to the French Quarter and right by excellent shopping and the Riverwalk.
