French Quarter karaoke headquarter draws crowds of all ages for drink specials, live music and lip-synching fun.. The Scene
The green-and-pink neon sign sets the tone; this is a good-spirited nightclub for conventioneers and tourists with their 18-and-over families. The downstairs main bar area is where the party is happening. A ground-floor courtyard catches overflow crowds. Upstairs is more laid-back, with a small bar, limited seating and a balcony.

The Draw
Popular rock and a sprinkling of country blasts over the speakers, either from the emcee-led karaoke scene or a DJ. A modest dance floor gives the motivated a place to shake their things. The music moves with the clock, with oldies popular during happy hour, classic rock around dinnertime, and modern and alternative rock when the youthful come out after 10pm. The karaoke is free and open to everyone.

Are you sure they even serve alcohol?. The place is a LOT of fun but I would recommend sticking to beer or drinking before you go. I'm a petite girl whose limit is normally 2 drinks and I was still perfectly sober after 6. I don't think there was a full ounce of alcohol among them.

here kitty, kitty. We had a very good time. It had a mixed crowd, the service was good. It can get rowdy, so be prepared, but after all, you are on Bourbon Street.

The only things to complain about was the restrooms (Very, Very nasty), no where to sit. But even with that, it still had one of the best mixed crowds to hang out and sing with!

Karaoke. This is the greatest place for live drunken karaoke. You can even see it from outside if the crowd at that window isn't too large.

The Watering "Down" Hole. We visited the "Cats Meow", ordered Gin & Tonic on their "3 for 1" Happy Hour. Keep in mind that your ordering 3 shots in a plastic cup the size of a "Big Gulp", and they water down the single drinks. We complained t the manager, but said we drank from the drink and there is nothing he could do. They used Gilberts Gin, gin does looks like water, drinking 4 of those tall drinks, I was scheduled to sing, & bit nervous, but the drinks did nothing to calm down my nerves !!! They don't give much chance for the people to sing, the "emcee's" do all the singing, and some good, but mostly bad. No dancing room, no where to sit, and they are totally rude, from the manager on down. I'd advise if your ordering a mixed drink, have it put in two glasses, taste and mix.

Cool Place to Meow out loud!. THis is a great place to go out to on the weekends or anytime; you can be in the crowd singing along with the karaoke or go try it yourself. You can go hang out upstairs on the balcony and see the sights passing down in the streets.

Karoke Kingdom!!!!. No visit to Bourbon Street is complete without stopping into the Cat's Meow!! it is a great crowd with terrific drink specials. it's worth the wait to get on stage to sing. Pay an extra $10 and you will even get a videotape of your performance to take home!! don't miss it!!
