Great, Affordable Course with Friendly Staff. Had a great day golfing with friends at Bayou Barriere. Just 10 miles from downtown, great option for visitors. Nice local place with very friendly staff. Paid $45 for golf, cart, rental clubs and lunch. Hint: Ask for the "Hotel Special".

Water and trees line almost every fairway at this flat 27-hole course.. In Short
Everyone, from the grounds crew to the marshals, must enjoy working here, because it shows. All are friendly and helpful, making any first-time Barriere player feel like a member. This is very much a locals' course, tucked away near the Belle Chasse tunnel. The fairways are flat and hard with some bumpy patches. Stick to the concrete cart path winding through the 27 holes. Greens are generally flat. The fairways are fairly wide, but any sliced or hooked balls will wind up in murky water or against a tree. Each hole is marked with a 150-yard distance marker.
