Hell hole. Closest thing to hell on Earth. Since the music is so lame, the crowd has to be drugged to enjoy it. Sunday nights feature some f@gg0t DJ that hands out ecstasy and LSD to white trash kids. I guess that is entertainment for some. Serious sh!thole. NOPD must be on the take on this one, because it should be shut down or burned down.
A cross between an Asian restaurant, a nightclub and a bohemian coffeehouse..
The Scene
The Dragon's Den sports a grungy Middle-Eastern arcane opium-den vibe with pillows on the floor and other such accouterments contributing. The Den is a favorite of the bohemian earth-shoe set that powers the Frenchmen Street scene. The environment can feel pretentious or contrived, but is in fact organic and quite mellow-except, of course, for the music, which can tend to the raucous side some nights. This place can turn from cozy and romantic to hot and sweaty.
The Draw
The Dragon's Den hosts such suitably gypsy-friendly fare as jazz (often experimental), hip-hop and even reggae. Thus on a given night you might find local favorites such as the Revealers, Iris May Tango or Soul Remedy working the patrons into a musical frenzy.
